Excellent product for a problem chewer
My family adopted a puppy who โ at the time I find myself needing this product is about 9 months old โ and she has never chewed on anything but her toys, and sticks in the yard... *Until*, that is, she had to be left home alone (except for another, older, dog) for approximately an hour and a half one day. We have a multiperson home so she has very seldom been alone, but she had tolerated it well previously. This time she decided to absolutely shred the crown molding around the picture windows in our living room, to the tune of roughly four feet of wood chewed off of the wall and turned into jelly bean sized pieces. Unfortunately, the thing that necessitated us leaving the house all at once will not resolved for the foreseeable future, and her action was definitely acting out from anxiety, so there's no point in trying to catch her doing it while home to modify her behavior. I remembered roughly twenty years ago when 1) my sister had a pet rabbit that chewed through electric cords, and 2) we rescued a dog who wanted to chew through chair legs, and my parents' solution then (along with training). The original and best sour apple spray! I ordered a bottle and thoroughly coated what remained of the moulding around the window, as well as a few other things like chair legs and table edges that I was concerned she might turn to. Despite us leaving the period for the same length every day for a month โ as well as a few days where we were gone more than 6 hours due to events beyond our control โ there has been no more indoor wood chewing. Now if only I had thought to spray the pillowcase od the body pillow she eviscerated and whose filling she spread across the house like a layer of snow, yesterday. :P The product worked great to stop chewing immediately, and literally cannot complain about anything, not even the awful taste *I* couldn't get out of my mouth for a good hour when I accidentally aspirated some of the spray during my frenzy to coat all the puppy-unsafe wood as soon as the bottle arrived. 5 stars absolutely well earned, I recommend this to anyone with an animal that chews, and will not hesitate to buy it again myself.

Sky Bison is Saved by Anti-Chew Spray
For years, Appa the sky Bison lived in harmony with our family. But everything changed when Appa fell, and the dogs attacked. Only an anti-chew spray, master of repelling dogs who liked to chew, could stop them. And when I needed it most, Amazon was there. A few days passed as I waited for the sprayโs arrival and I discovered a box containing the spray on my front porch. Its chew-repellent skills were great, and it was ready to save Appa. I believe this spray can save the plushies of this world. Iโm sure this spray wonโt work for every dog, but it seems to work for mine. My poor Appa plushy was mistaken for a chew toy. Thankfully, I got to him before much damage could be done. But I knew I had to protect him from another brutal attack! So I ordered this anti-chew spray and sprayed it all over Appa. I offered Appa to the dogs as if he were a chew toy. One of my dogs tried to bite him, but as soon as she did, she immediately let go with a disgusted look on her face and walked away. My other dog sniffed Appa for a moment and then lost interest. Now Appa can live harmoniously with us again.

Works well for some dogs
So we got a puppy last year, and of course he did what teething puppies do and began chewing on everything. In an attempt to try to stop it we picked up some of this bitter apple spray to try. We'd purchased it before years ago for a different puppy, and it absolutely did not work on her - she continued chewing on things as if we'd just added flavoring. Because of this experience we were skeptical if it would work on this new pup, but figured it was worth a shot. Much to our delight, he IMMEDIATELY stopped chewing on anything we sprayed with this. He is very much put off by it, and it has been a huge success. I'm giving it 4 stars because the product isn't perfect and won't work for all dogs, but it's absolutely worth trying to see if it works for yours.

Does not stain furniture and leaves a nice scent
This is an excellent product. Our pug/chihuahua mix had been rescued from a rain ditch when we adopted her. The first day we brought her home she was understandably showing signs of stress and behaviour problems, but with time, patience and love she slowly came around. One thing we still had issues with was her chewing and ripping the stuffing out of our pillows and couch cushions. A friend recommended Grannick's bitter apple no chew spray. We're very happy with the results, thanks to this spray, it has stopped her chewing and ripping our pillows and cushions. This bitter apple spray seems to have a calming effect on her. I especially like that this spray does not leave a stain, but it does have a nice pleasant scent. We started using this no chew spray everyday for a week, then used it before leaving the house and now we don't need to use it all, but it's good to have just in case. This no chew spray gives us peace of mind. I highly recommend Grannick's bitter apple no chew spray. It's a really good value for the money.

Strong Smell. Works, But Have To Respray Often
It works, but loses its effectiveness after a couple of days. Very strong alcohol smell, which disipates after a few minutes just like with rubbing alcohol. The spray bottle was not easy to use without it leaking with every spray. Maybe I received a defective sprayer bottle? For this reason I recommend wearing gloves! The first time I used Grannick's Bitter Apple was over 20 yrs ago and it worked like a charm - just sprayed everything once and done. For that reason, it would have received 5 stars, but unfortunately I can't give it a true 5 stars today. Although it worked and my puppy didn't like the taste of it, after just a couple of days, I found myself having to respray everything again. Not sure why it's losing it's effectiveness so quickly. But I did notice today's product has a very strong alcohol smell, whereas the older product only had a faint apple smell. I hope the manufacturer, or whomever, hasn't cut all the bittering ingredients and factors that once made this product very effective and would last, just to add or substitute it with more alcohol (hence the strong alcohol smell). I may try to purchase this elsewhere to see if there's a difference and will update. Because at this rate and less quality, this product is going to cost me more than the items I'm trying to protect! I would also like to add that my puppy 20+ years ago was a Cocker Spaniel. My new puppy is a German Shepherd/Husky mix whom I recently discovered likes the taste of sour stuff, hence why a similar "super sour" product didn't work. Maybe different breeds have different tastes buds? Idk, but thought maybe this background info may be of some help to others.

Stop Puppy Chewing "off limit" items
I used this 20 years ago in working with our Dalmatian to prevent him biting at some skin "hot spots" and to discourage him chewing on items around house (chords, furniture). I am using it now with a French Bulldog puppy to discourage chewing on chords and items around house that we cannot fully "rope off" from her chewing. It works well for this. The smell is not obnoxious to humans and it's enough to stop her. It isn't staining wood or items that we're spraying so its a good deterrent. Glad this product is still around!

Works fantastic
My dog literally chewed a couch to the wood frame. Bought a new one and used this spray twice a day for a week. He doesn't chew it or even get on it now...lol

Mixed results with ~1-year-old heeler mix
I recently adopted a roughly one-year-old heeler mix, and, while extremely sweet, he has a tendency to bite feet when he wants to play. He also likes to chew plastics and textiles, among other things. This has been fairly effective when it comes to objects such as grill covers, planters, window screen, and the like. That being said, I've had very mixed results when it comes to biting feet. He clearly dislikes the taste, so it inhibits him somewhat most of the time, but it doesn't ever fully stop him. At best, he'll nibble with only his front teeth. He'll also still get kind of chompy regardless of the bitterant if something works him up enough. Impulse control is something we're working on, and I've seen improvement, but this hasn't been quite as effective as I'd like on that front.
