This is what you need for your forge. There’s no instructions with it but you can get help online. It worked for me and it has held up well. This product is for extreme high heat. A lot of the refractory cement available through stores is made for fireplace repair. For the heat generated in a forge this is what you need

The material itself appears to work as expected, but buyers should be aware that it arrived completely unlabeled, with no mixing ratios or instructions included. I’m in the middle of a propane forge build and had purchased multiple refractory products at the same time — Kast-O-Lite and Plistix 900 — all of which are white/gray powders with very different uses and mixing requirements. Because this product came in an unmarked bag, I nearly mistook it for Plistix 900. If you’re not already familiar with refractory materials, this could easily lead to using the wrong product in the wrong application. I strongly recommend that the seller include at least a basic label and mixing guidance to avoid confusion and potential mistakes. The product itself seems fine — the lack of labeling is the issue.

Don't think you're going to get one (or more) of the sacks you've seen on YouTube! You ain't! It's sold by weight...which is fine, if you know how much this stuff weighs.... which you only find out once you buy it .... It's heavy, ergo... the bags are small, very small. THIS is why they don't say "covers up to.... X square feet" The bag you get (I blew £66 on two) is roughly about the size of two coke cans. Making this stuff yourself isn't rocket science, just a bit of a faff. I'm going to be testing batches and will YouTube my own review once I've matched this for temp. Ultimately you're going to spend more on this, than you did the forge itself. Dear Mr Volcano..... Nobody likes getting ripped off.
