I bought these positaps to install aftermarket headlights on my car. I'm not experienced with automotive wiring, I just know the basics such as Ohm's Law. This was a job I dreaded having to do, and put it off for as long as I could because I was worried about needing to buy a soldering station and learning how to use it without burning my car or garage down. This was until I discovered the existence of these Posi-taps. It was easy to figure out how to use them, and many videos exist on YouTube explaining how for anyone in doubt. The end result was perfect. The connection was solid, and so far they have been holding up with my aggressive driving habits and even held up in wet driving conditions. No flickering, no fluctuations in brightness. Overall, I think this little device is ingenious, miles better than alternatives such as T-taps, and they save you tons of money by allowing you to perform a solderless T-splice yourself without the need to cut the factory harness, meaning this installation is completely reversible with posi-taps. For anyone dealing with automotive wiring, Posi-taps are a solid choice for DIYers. Just make sure you buy the right size and style.

Tapping into wiring, especially tight bundles with little space has always been such a hard job and leaves the original wiring so messed up I'd usually just not do the job. These little connectors make jobs like that practical and non destructive to the existing wiring. A+

These wire tap connectors are awesome. They make for a very clean and professional looking installation. They are also easy to use in tight spaces.

These things are a Godsend for quick and easy connections working inside the car if you don’t solder or you have no confidence in yourself to do it well. I used them to connect a reverse camera that comes with fragile, hard to manipulate, ultra thin wires that wouldn’t crimp well. I was able to slice the sheathing back on the camera wires and get a tight, solid, tug-resistant connection to the power and ground wires out of the head unit. It's really as simple as advertised. Put the main wire you want to splice into into the cradle on the one end, screw that tight until it the spike goes in and you can't turn it any further. Put the exposed twisted strands of the wire you need to tie into the existing line into the cap on the other end and screw that until you can't turn it anymore. Protecting it all with electrical tape doesn't hurt as a little extra insurance. I ordered the connectors for 18 gauge wire but used them for 16. This guarenteed a snug fit in the cradle for the main wire and the spike going in solidly in through the middle. Got a tight, solid, dependable connection with about 10 total minutes of work. Camera works great. Didn’t have to mess with splicing or cutting the head unit wires and risk damaging them, or a wrap and tape hack job that might give me problems later like the last one did. On both ends of the connection just don’t be afraid to twist the screw until you feel like it won’t turn further.

Super simple to use. Used these to wire a motorcycle headlamp, worked great. Make sure you ground your wires friends.
