Outstanding Precision and Quality for Detailed Torque Work
The TEKTON 1/4-Inch Drive Dual-Direction Click Torque Wrench has exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I picked it up, the build quality was apparent. It feels solid, well-balanced, and engineered to a much higher standard than many torque wrenches in this price range. The torque adjustment mechanism is smooth and easy to set, with clear, easy-to-read markings that make dialing in precise torque values simple. The click is distinct and easy to feel, providing confidence that fasteners are being tightened accurately without the risk of over-torquing. The dual-direction capability is another great feature, allowing accurate torque application in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions. I primarily use it for motorcycle maintenance, small engine work, and other precision applications where inch-pound accuracy is critical. It performs flawlessly and inspires confidence every time I use it. The included storage case is sturdy and keeps the wrench protected when not in use. What really stands out is the value. TEKTON has delivered a professional-quality tool at a price that is accessible to both DIY enthusiasts and experienced mechanics. If you're looking for a reliable, accurate, and well-built inch-pound torque wrench, this one is an easy recommendation. Highly recommended—an excellent addition to any toolbox.

Great little tool!
Instruction are clear and easy to understand - This is JUST a torque wrench - does not come with any attachments - - In my opinion, it's best for use with bolts up to about 1/2" - if possible, get the bolt or equipment manufacture's specs on max torque. My purchase was for M8 (3/8") bolts at 12Nm One CAN order a wide variety of accessories (personal experience), and, as it's a standard 1/4 inch drive, most users will likely already have most everything that will be needed Once the tension is set, ( up to 150 inch/pounds [in-lb] or 16.9 Newtons/Meter [Nm] - ) there is no need to "read" anything - When the set torque is reached, there is a slight "bump" that is felt through the handle. (if your hearing is better than mine, you may hear a "click") The instructions suggest - wisely - to practice a bit to "get the feel" of proper operation. Personally, as I am getting old and my eyesight is getting bad, I prefer this method - - Because I don't have to struggle to read a scale or a display to know when I've reached the desired torque. (Being a bit of a gorilla, I have a tendency to snap bolts off - especially small bolts (1/2" is "small" to me) - so this tool is a great damage saver) Setting the desired torque is also very simple. Although some folks who are not familiar with the technique may have a short learning curve, it's just a matter of turning a knob until marks line up. The instructions have very clear pictures. The settings are in both ASE and Metric, so it is not necessary to mess around with conversion tables or calculators - although a conversion table IS included with the instructions. One precaution though. This is an all meta tool - if using on electrical equipment (which is my usage) it would be wise to wrap electrical tape around any accessory that may be at risk - and keep it in good shape. Shock hazard aside, a short circuit can cause extreme heat and serious burns. This precision instrument comes, as it should, in a nice hard fabric storage case with a tight zipper - the instructions fold nicely in the case - the tool is held in place in a pocket on one end, a Velcro strap on the handle. This case comes in a plastic bag and in a nice sturdy cardboard box - I store this combination in my home - not the garage or tool box - as befits a fine scientific instrument. One last thought - described in the instructions - my grandfather, a custom jeweler and watch maker, taught me that springs - and this device depends on a spring - springs have "memory" - that is, if left wound up, they loose their temper (as if they got angry and being cooped up too long) and 'forget' what they are supposed to do. SOOOoooo, always change the setting to the lowest point when puting this tool aside - especially when putting it into storage. Otherwise, it will loose accuracy over time.

Nice Torque Wrench for the Cost - Accurate and Handy
It's really nice to have a torque wrench for lighter needs and this one is perfect for it. I have to replace the oil pan on my wife's X3 and they are definitely bolts that cannot be too tight (they're aluminum one time use bolts). This was perfect for my needs. I have a the 3/8" Tekton and 1/4" Tekton wrenches and both are really handy, seem accurate, and are of good quality. They legitimately do feel well mad and have a positive "click" when you reach the assigned torque setting, and both are easy to adjust and read. Overall, these seem to be really nice for the price and I'm very happy with them both.

Awesome tool!
As a professional auto tech this is an amazing tool. Snap on wanted over $200 for a quarter inch drive torque wrench that would be comparable to this one. I have used this thing many times in the month that I have owned it and it has worked every time. It is easy to use and read. I love the fact that the ratchet head is a quick release head. This tool is great for getting the right torque on anything that requires low torque such as plastic intake manifolds. The tool does not make a really audible click but you can DEFINITELY tell when you have reached the set torque by the feel of the ratcheting mechanism, again I never have to worry about over torquing a bolt with this ratchet. Overall this is a great tool for the price it works perfect for any pro, DIY, or hobbyist. Also the one that I purchased is the 10-150 in lbs version which is ideal for doing jobs with very low torque ratings.

A really great, really tiny, well-designed tool.
This thing looks, feels, and works great. Adjustments are easy and the locking mechanism is excellent. Markings are easy to see, durability appears to be outstanding, and it's very compact. I also appreciate the 1/4" size, because 1/4" sockets are easier to get into tight spaces (and spaces with "inch-pound" torque requirements are often tight). Having 72 teeth is *amazing* for a torque wrench. The case isn't really "soft" it has a reinforcing plastic plate in it. The case design is surprisingly good... it protects the tool much better than regular blow-molded plastic cases. Really outstanding. Two warnings: 1) It's very, very small: like a foot long. I found this to be advantageous but if you're expecting a big heavy tool, you'll be sorely disappointed. 2) Because this only goes up to 150 inch pounds (which is roughly 13 foot pounds) it doesn't cover all of the range below a typical 1/2 inch drive torque wrench (which usually starts at 20 foot pounds). If you want to have just two torque wrenches, rather than having a third one to cover the in-between margin, you might want to get the OTHER Tekton 1/4-inch torque wrench (which does 20-200 inch pounds instead of 10-150).

Very Impressive Quality Torque Wrench
I purchased this torque wrench to tighten the bolts on my Carbon Fiber Bicycle. Every other cycle specific torque wrench I looked at were either unnecessarily expensive (because it was a cycle specific torque wrench) or seemed like a toy with a bunch of cheap 1/4 inch hex bits packaged in for good measure. This Tekton Torque wrench looked and felt like a "fine precision tool" right out of the box. it has a fine tooth ratcheting head and torques down fasteners in clockwise and counterclockwise directions. The torque wrench comes in a soft-sided storage case. It would have been nice if it came in a red blow-molded case like the other Tekton torque wrenches. This is purely my opinion as the included storage case should be more then sufficient to protect the torque wrench. I tested the Tekton against another calibrated torque wrench (nothing scientific just tightening and loosening several bolts at different torque settings) and it appeared to be precise enough that I would trust it for tightening down fasteners on a Carbon Fiber Frame. At lower torque settings the audible click is a little light but you do easily feel the torque wrench break when it reaches the set torque. I did not experience any slipping of the ratcheting mechanism as others have stated. The torque wrench scale lines up perfectly and it is easy to see. After about a week of testing and actual use, I am impressed with the finish, accuracy, and design of this torque wrench and I would highly recommend it.

Excellent quality tool
This 1/4" Tekton torque wrench (TRQ21101) is of very high quality and it has worked very well for me installing torque-to-yield 89 in-lb water pump bolts. It's small and fits into tight places, and the etched numbers and lines are fantastic - very easy to read. The tool's feel is solid, the function is smooth and tight, and it just feels excellent. This is top-quality IMO. Same league as the box truck names.

Good and solid
Easy to set, with two scales (metric and imperial). Its a bit of hassle on the need to set it back to low tension value for storage.
