Taylor Precision TempRite 180ยฐ F Dishwasher Temp Strip - the tool you didn't know you need
This is a commercial grade product useful to test the final rinse temperature of your dishwasher. It works as expected. Take away: you should always verify that your dishwasher final rinse temperature exceeds 180 degrees. ALL food service facilities must by regulation. With food born illness more prevalent than most know, believe me this is important in your home too. These strips do exactly that. Place one on your rack and run a load. One caveat, I run a load without the heated dry cycle so I am certain that the strip is changing only because of my rinse temperature. Also, I will use a test strip on every wash cycle my dishwasher has (again without heated dry) just to ensure the water is hot enough on every cycle. Particularly important of you don't use full cycles or just use a rinse cycle.
