A Commentary on Hebrews

Good product

This book is typical of David Parson’s, his ability to take a step away from the minutiae of the text and comment on the overall thought, flow and texture of the scripture, leads to instructive and encouraging writing. Without, leaving out the bits which may be called “the hard sayings and warnings” of the text. This is a well-balanced and thoughtful approach that educates the mind and warms the soul.

As ever, David Pawson inspires and informs us as he takes us through the book to the Hebrews. What I so appreciate about Mr Pawson is his high regard for the Law and showing us its relevance and relationship to us as Christians. The Law is not denigrated as is so often the case in some christian circles. That said, in case i give the impression that Mr Pawson is advocating a form of 'lawkeeping', i hasten to say that Jesus is pre-eminent in every way ..thank God for David Pawson who preaches sound doctrine with the love of the Lord!

David Pawson's book is as always uplifting and carefully considered.

I didn't enjoy reading this exposition of one of the hardest to know books of the Bible, but most valuable from both a Jewish viewpoint, and a believer in Jesus, Yeshu'ah. Sadly, I don't believe Dr Pawson fulfilled his own aim outlined in the Foreword to analyse the book with a 1st century eye. There is so much imprecise comments in so much modern Christian commentary, which fails to see the culture of 1st century life, the religious background of the times, and most notably, the Jewish/gentle divisions which, even today are not understood. This book is one of the many guilty of the gentilization of Jesus. Christianity is not a religion, but is a revolutionary theology, aimed at showing the world up for what it is: a sham. The same can be said, sadly, of Christianity. This book doesn't seek to be dispassionate regarding this division in 21st century Christianity. It doesn't seem to be aware of it. The book is called Hebrews. Does that not indicate who the readership was? We must allow the Word to teach us, and not for us to overlook the all too clear meaning and fail to understand what it is teaching us. This is, I feel, the mistake Dr Pawson has made, regardless of his history, and track record.

Loved this book, found that it made the study of the Book of Hebrews much easier to get through. I bought this book in March and it's now July and I have just finished it. I read it in conjunction with God's Word and found that it gave me greater insight into the meaning of Hebrews. Gave plenty of food for thought, and made my usual notes very interesting to read back on. Well worth every penny, can't want to get and start on my next study deeper into the Word of God.

Of this series of books, in my opinion, this is the best so far. It lives up to all it purports to be and more. I can not agree with all of Mr Pawsons conclusions, particularly the unforgivable sin, but this book will give a pleasind introduction and inspiration to study Hebrew more. Thank You Mr Pawson

A commentary on Hebrews by David Pawson. Again this is a book written by a man of God, he is an excellent author and more people should read his books.
