Firstly, this thing is well made. The little dimples on one side give it liftoff from the surface, so markers are far less likely to smear and bleed on the talc or plastic map. The edges are shaped well for making repeating lines of symbols. This saves time, and standardizes your markings. The one caveat is to check if all the symbols align to your doctrine and standards. In particular, the arrow for "Fix" is not NATO standard on this. Maybe you can make your own, just be aware.

As someone who regularly works with military graphics, I was disappointed with this symbol template. It lacks several updated symbols and formatting conventions found in ADP 1-02 and does not align with current AR 25-52 standards for official correspondence and map products. Some icons are obsolete or missing entirely, and the spacing doesn’t match the required scale, which leads to inaccuracies on overlays and products. While the material quality is decent, its usefulness is limited unless it's updated to reflect current doctrine. Until then, I can’t recommend it for professional use.
