Easy setup
Bought this to connect my old Nintendo 64 to a modern TV and it worked exactly as described. Setup couldn't have been easier – just plugged it in, connected the HDMI cable, and it was ready to go. No messing about with settings or extra adapters. The picture is noticeably better than the original AV cables. It's never going to look like a modern console, but the image is cleaner and the colours are much brighter while still keeping that authentic N64 look. I didn't notice any input lag either, which is great for fast-paced games. The adapter feels well made and fits securely into the console. Delivery was quick, it was well packaged, and it's been working perfectly since I received it. If you want a simple, reliable way to play your Nintendo 64 on a newer TV, this is well worth buying. Very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Inexpensive solution for SNES/N64 and GameCube.
I have 3 of these adaptors, one for a GameCube and another for the N64 and a third for my SNES. They’re an inexpensive solution for using your Nintendo consoles on a modern HDMI TV. Picture quality is clear and clean. It’s far superior, (for the SNES and N64), than the RF or Scart options. Just remember: if it’s not initial working, turn off the console, flick the switch on the adaptor and turn on the console again. A bonus is this adaptor doesn’t require a USB power supply, which in my previous experience generates a lot of additional heat. Edit: (May 1st) The adapter works just fine on the SNES. Of course it doesn’t improve on the existing graphics. As a side note: I noticed when switching on my N64, the adaptor loaded into a black screen. I thought it was the fault of the adaptor, but after a little research, I discovered the cartridges were dirty. Waverace refused to load at all. I used cotton buds dipped in isopropyl alcohol to clean the pins and now all games work perfectly. One interesting thing that happened was when I switched from a standard, (non-smart) LG TV to a Sharp HD Ready TV: every 10 or 12 minutes the Nintendo 64 reset. My first task was to clean the expansion pak connectors, (again with a cotton bud and isopropyl alcohol), but it only stopped when I flipped the tiny switch on the adaptor, (which gave me no picture previously), and gameplay resumed. It’s a joy to play games like The Ocarina of Time - a modern masterpiece - on the original hardware. Takes me back to my teenage years. 4 stars !

Works great, retro gaming on newer tvs
Really happy though expensive compared to Wii versions. Allows me to use my 64 on my new tv as it does not have an av connection. Relatively small and does not extend past the power supply, plug and play baby so no faffing around setting up. Allows me to retro game and will change my output from 4:3 to 16:9. Goldeneye 4 way is a dream now on newer tvs.

IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE BOX
Hooray, I can play my N64 again - the Bond game. The product doesn't make outlandish claims and the image isn't as sharp and the controller response not as smooth but what do you expect for a low price. Value for what it is. If you want pin shape pictures and smooth response because you're a serious gamer, go for the more expensive products.

Works but too bright
Got this for my Gamecube. It works which is good, but like others mention it makes things too bright and doesn't look so good.

Perfect for UK N64
Have a UK N64 and new TV doesn't have composite RCA video input. Tried 3 other composite to HDMI adapters first, which were about half the price of this one, but 2 just gave blue screen and the other one flickered quite badly - from what I read the N64 signal at 240p is the reason. This has no issues and worked straight away (Tested with Mariokart 64) Quality looks fine to me for a retro console - potentially this 'S-Video' version is why it is better over composite signal versions. Saw the 'line doubler' version at twice the price, which might be better again, but I'm happy with this one. Nice there is no extra USB cable for power, just HDMI socket on the console now.

Bon produit
Ça a fonctionné directement sur ma Super Nintendo. J’en avais essayé un autre que j’ai renvoyé car inefficace. Je ne sais pas si dans le temps ça peut changer. En tout cas, je vous le conseille

Plug and play - Brings SNES to the modern Era
The old CRT box TV I had been using for my SNES finally gave out, so I picked this up to give it a try on an HDMI monitor. I searched for awhile for a good adapter, and chose this one based on the metal housing and no need for an additional power supply. It comes with an HDMI cable so you simply plug the adapter into your console and then the HDMI from the adapter to your display, and you're good to go. There is a little switch on it to change between "S-video" or composite output. If your console supports the S-video option, that's the way to go. There is also a tiny red indicator light that turns on when in use. I have this plugged into a 24inch monitor, and feel that the picture quality is quite good. It's definitely better than it's been when using an RCA (red white yellow cord) to HDMI adapter. I did not notice any discernible delay or anything like that, and the colors look good as well. Obviously we're not dealing with a high definition game system here so it won't look as good as SNES games on the Switch or SNES classic edition, but those are emulated and here you're still getting the original, albeit adapted, 30ish year old video signal. The adapter does not have the option to switch from 16:9 to 4:3, but most TVs do if the stretched out image bothers you. I did have a few games where the left side of the screen was slightly cut off, but I think the monitor is causing that and I will eventually have this hooked up to my living room TV. So to conclude I think this is a solid, relatively inexpensive way to play your retro Nintendo consoles on a modern display. I tested it with both an SNES and Super Famicom, and it worked good. There are cheaper options out there and MUCH more expensive ones as well, but this feels like a quality use of $30, in my opinion, and I'm happy with its function, and simple plug and play operation. I will update this review if I ever get my hands on an N64 or GameCube to test out.

Great hdmi adapter for SNES N64 etc
Using this with both a SNES and an N64. Works perfectly, it’s plug and play. Image quality is definitely better than other ones ive had in the past that connect to the wires. Highly recommended

Brings old games back to life!
I hadn’t been able to play on our old SNES since we got rid of our old TV. This adapter brought the old games back to life! It’s plug and play, just plug the adapter into your console and then a HDMI-cable from the adapter to the TV. It’s really simple and works great. Highly recommend, good quality product!
