Very handy
This is one main component that I use to attach both a microphone boom and a tablet holder to my Z-style keyboard stand. The angle and height adjustments provide a lot of flexibility. I am using a pair of these with a pair of On Stage KSA7575 Universal Keyboard Stand Microphone Attachment Bar to attach to the stand, and it is a perfect solution for eliminating floor stands. Think of this as one multi-purpose component that can be used in a variety of ways to mount microphones, small mixers (with the right attachments like the one Yamaha has for its smaller MG-series mixers), tablet holders and ... let your imagination run wild. It's sturdy and adjustable, and inexpensive. One of the two shown in the photo that I provided has served me well for over five years, so they are well made too.

Locks in place and doesn't slip.
I bought this Quick Loc boom to go with my Airturn ultra-light/compact tripod mic stand. The Quick Loc boom is PERFECT to go with that tripod. It doesn't stick out behind the boom. I really like how easy it is to use, and it never slips. It weighs almost nothing and it fits perfectly in my gig bag or back pack. I now have the perfect set up for all the one nighters I play. I am using the boom with an On-Stage Quick Release mic adapter, so I can easily remove the boom from the tripod base without worrying about damaging the threads since I no longer need to unscrew it and screw it back on over and over again, risking thread damage. Slick set up!

Very solidly built, great locking clutch, great mounted to a desk clamp
I use this boom attached to a desk clamp to hold a talk back mic (a cheap SM58 wannabe from Radio Shack). I like how I can collapse and tilt back the boom so it is out of the way when not in use, but then I can easily position for use with a generous 16 inch reach. Definitely cannot use this with a standard desk mic stand weighted base because of the tip risk, but a clamping mount works very well. The locking clutch is excellent, with a large nob and secure teeth. The smaller knob to control extending the boom is also more than sufficient. Just what I needed.

UPDATE: I'm (not so) happy, okay, I'm happy.
UPDATE: Previosly (below) I described a problem with the cap the mic clip screws onto failing. I put JB Weld all over the outside of the cap over a year ago. It's still holding and going strong I used it at gigs every weekend and no problems. You can't even notice the JB Weld around the base of the cap, but it's holding it securely to the extension rod. I'm Happy. Okay my original review is below and I changed the subject from "I'm happy" to "I'm (not so) happy" After about three uses the small cap (with the threads) that screw into the mic clip just came loose from the extendable bar and the clip and mic just roll down below the boom as one other review warned us about. Now I'm a fixer upper myself, so rather then send it back I planned to just slather it up with jb weld and go on my way, but the cap is affixed inside and you can't get it off the bar, so it just rolls around the bar, won't unscrew and won't just pull off the bar. So the fix for now is jb weld all around the outside and trying to squeeze micro amounts up between the bar and cap. I don't want to hassle with the return but I will if I must. Seems rock solid now, but I'll keep you updated(jb weld) can cure a multitude of sins. the other alternative is buy the shorter (7 inch) affixed boom. Got this to use at gigs with tight settings and to hang a tablet from (tablet holder reviewed elsewhere). I wanted a boom but with out the counterweight extension sticking out. So far it's working good. Im hanging the tablet on it, and it's holding my Shure PGXD wireless mic up (vertically) just fine, as one reviewer indicated the weight of a mic makes it flop down and hold the mic upside down. I'm not seeing that...yet. But as for now I love it.

Excellent in all respects!
I'm using this boom with an On Stage TM03 Table Microphone Clamp and a Shure SM58 microphone in an On Stage MY250 Mic Clamp. I have found it to be easy to adjust and rock solid. Based on my experience with other On Stage products, this is typical. These products are less expensive than most, but are well designed and well made. And no, I have absolutely no connection to On Stage. I just happen to have had excellent results with every On Stage product I've used. BTW, I use this boom to record audio for computer training videos. I was concerned about noise transfer from my movements of the mouse and keyboard through the boom. So I mounted the clamp on an adjacent table to provide a little isolation. It makes a big difference and the boom is solid enough to hold my heavy SM58 steady at full extension.

Perfect Companion to their GPA1003 Mic Stand
Just like the title says. I use the GPA1003 because it's a great stand for guitar players with a pedalboard. The tilt pole on that stand is ok, but this makes it much more functional. Decent quality and I've been using it for a few months without issue.

Mixed feelings...
The big elbow is fairly solid, but the telescope arm gets floppy if it comes out more than a few inches. It worked ok to get a mic into the middle of a bass drum, but could be a lot better if the cheap bastards that make this chinese crap would spend another few cents and make it a solid part.

Bought several of these 18 months ago, back for more now.
18 months ago, I bought three of these; two exactly like this, with the extendable boom, and one with a fixed boom. I got that one first because I worried about using a longer extension without a counterweight. But I need not have worried. I use almost exclusively Sure 58 microphones, and have never had any difficulty sing stands with a tripod base (taking some care about the orientation of the base). I also use with a heavy weighted bass, but I am more nervous about that. Still, those worries are in my head. And I am back for more. I use one on a desk clamp to hold my 12 inch I-Pad at a flexible distance for zoom work. It is almost always at full extension unless swung back against the wall for storage. and it performs admirably in that role. But now that I am again getting to go out a little, I want it back in my stand bag so I don't have to break down my set-up. After a year and a half of almost constant use, and weekly set-up/tear-down, I am very, very pleased. As I said, I came to the site to order two more.

Very good quality.....sturdy....seems like it will survive many live shows. Nice to have a boom style attachment for playing guitar that doesn't stick out onto the dance floor or require a bigger footprint because of the 'tail end' of the boom sticking out
