I needed to be bigger

One pair came inside the box. Disappointed as the price is high for one pair.

The picture and the reviews say that each order has two pairs of shoe trees, however I only received one pair. The shoe trees themselves are ok, the front is a bit too bulky and the rear is a little too narrow, so they don't fill the shoe like they should

The shoe tree may be nice, the way it’s marketed is misleading. In photo they show two pairs of shoe tree but in actual it’s just one . No where they describe clearly. So if someone like me buy trusting the picture, ll be shocked to see that it’s just one pair inspite of two pairs shown in photo

First of All it only comes in 1 pair they don't mention that deliberately to miss lead us with the picture. Second it’s too small for a shoe tree the sole purpose is to stretch the leather and it doesn't. My shoe size is 12 US and i bought the XL size 11.5 to 13.5 US and it wobbles inside the shoe. Now for the quality it seems decent and has a beautiful aromatic smell hence the 2 stars.

The correct size was supplied for my shoe size but there is no tension on the spring once inserted. It just slops around, the toe split provides no resistance to the spring and the heel moves around and there is no support for the vamp because no tension is made. The issue is because a slightly wide fitting shoe allows the toe split to be loose. A larger size would not be any better as the design of the product is flawed and probably only suitable for very narrow fitting shoes.

This is my first pair of shoe trees. I have a pair of US Men's size 7.5D Allen Edmonds Park Avenue Dress Boots. These size "Small" trees fit perfectly, and might fit a size 8 Allen Edmonds shoe as well. The spring is pretty well compressed in my 7.5, so fitting anything smaller than a 7.5 Allen Edmonds may be difficult. Allen Edmonds sizes their shoes more accurately than others, I wear a size 9 sneaker in most brands, but 7.5 in AE. Other dress shoes might be sized more like sneakers, YMMV. I would describe the construction of these as "as expected." The cedar is nicely shaped and the surface is smooth. The spring seems adequate for the task and they smell great. If these ever wear out, I will most likely buy another Houndsbay set because I'll know what size to get and the quality seems good.
