Exactly what I expected
I bought these bulbs to use as high beams on an aftermarket HID projector kit I bought for my truck (the high beams on that particular model are halogen and are not projector). These are exactly what I expected and well worth the $14 I spent on them. They are about as bright as a standard 65W high beam bulb. I say this because they are 100W (brighter) but they use a blue tint (which reduced light output) to reduce the yellow in the light and make them appear whiter. The result is a bulb which is about the same brighness, whiter, and a much shorter lifespan. I highly recommend carrying spares of these bulbs if you don't want a ticket for driving with a headlight out. Also, while they are much whiter than regular halogen bulbs, they are not as white as my 6000k HIDs (which I also expected). All in all, I got exactly what I expected plus spares for what I consider a very resonable price. For that reason I give these five stars.

Don't waste your money
Don't waste your money on these. I installed with gloves on and one side blew out in less than 2 weeks. I drive at night for about an hour a day. So not even 10 hours on them and it was cooked. I pulled them out and noticed the metal part got so hot it turned blue from heat alone. I also noticed both bulbs had a small burn mark on the same exact spots. Pure junk save your money and buy a better brand. The output was pretty dim as well.

So far, so good
This review isn't about light output to avoid the ad naseum debates about how they only "appear" brighter. I went in knowing that these are not true Xenon lights, that they have an overdriven filament to compensate for the tint on the bulbs and thus will undoubtedly have a shorter lifespan, are considered "rice", blah, blah... All I can say is that I paid basically what a stock bulb costs (competiting popular brands sell for as much as three times and more the amount I paid), so why not try them? So far I am happy with them. And yes, they "seem" brighter. They are definitely "whiter' for sure.

Great Performance, But Short Lifespan
The Hella Optilux XB Series H1 Xenon White Halogen Bulbs deliver impressive brightness and a crisp white light that significantly improves nighttime visibility. Installation was quick and easy, and the difference in clarity compared to standard halogens was immediately noticeable. These bulbs look great and perform very well on the road. However, the biggest drawback is their longevity. For a reputable brand like Hella, I expected these to last longer. Unfortunately, they tend to burn out quicker than I’d like—especially at this wattage—and that’s disappointing for what is otherwise an excellent product. If you’re looking for strong light output and don't mind replacing bulbs a bit more often, these are a solid choice. But if durability is your top concern, you may want to explore other options.

Still more on the Yellowish-White
Its still yellow but more on the whiter side. The LED’s are still pure white. And high beams are good but not super bright.

great color and light output
I originally had MTEC H1 lights that I had purchased from e-bay in my car. Although I liked the color and output of these lights, they burned out fairly quickly (every 5-6 months). I bought these from Amazon because they were fairly cheap, and if I didn't like the color it would not have been a huge loss. So far, I've been pleasantly surprised. The color is just about what I'm looking for; mostly white, and definitely not the bright blue lights that you sometimes see driving down the street. Light output is pretty good; much better than a PIAA set I had a few years back. Overall for the price, these are a great buy for me. I've only had them in for about a month, so it's too early to tell if they will last longer than the MTECs or not. I will try and post an update once they finally go bad 6/21/11 Update - 2 stars Well, not surprisingly the originals I had finally went bad, so I ordered a replacement set. No biggie. Except, the replacement set burned out (both bulbs) about 8 days after I bought them. WTF? I ordered another set, apparently unaware of the adage "fool me once...". These lasted a little longer, but in about a month they were both gone too. I know enough not to handle the bulbs with my bare hands, so that's not the problem. I even went as far as buying a new weather seal/gasket in case water was entering the housing, but that didn't help either. Maybe I got lucky with the first set of bulbs I ordered. Or maybe I just got really unlucky with the next 2 sets. In either case, I can't recommend this item anymore, and now I'll have to keep searching for a suitable replacement.

Worst one don't think to buy
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Don't even think about to buy it. Such a worst product, it doesn't give brightness as mentioned and will burn very early....

One bulb failed after 2 months
One of the bulbs failed 2 months after installation. So disappointing, as I had high expectations for the product considering HELLA is a reputable brand. To the Seller : please send me a replacement bulb under warranty claim.
