I love ❤️ this shampoo. It has been the best solution for me with seborrheic dermatitis. Yes it smells like tar shampoo but in not as strong as most.I see people complaining of the smell and tbh tar shampoo will always smell like tar shampoo. It’s just what it is. But the smell doesn’t smell stay in your hair after conditioning. I haven’t had a flare up in while even after season changes and I think it because of this shampoo 😍 Highly effective and results last

UPDATE: STILL HAPPY! It's been a few years and this is still the best thing out there. I am able to skip using it for several weeks to several months at a time now. I will use it the second I start to feel a change in my scalp and it prevents a flare up. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Long time sufferer of itch and dandruff. I was to the point of going mad when I discovered I may have scalp psoriasis. I looked up what helps and stumbled upon tar and took a shot at this shampoo. I LOVE IT! It's the only thing I've ever tried that actually works. Immediately calmed the itch and started clearing the flakes. I used it daily for a week and now I do every other day or three times a week. If I go too long, the problem comes back. I use this with just a regular conditioner to help with the tar smell. It's strong out of the bottle but rinsing and using the conditioner helps mask it. I was worried about that! Follow the directions, and use a shampoo brush if you want extra scrubbing. I am so thrilled I found this. So more itch, no more large chunks of skin in my hair (so gross), no more red or bleeding scalp, no more psoriasis build up (looked like cradle cap). Just nice, shiny hair and a clear scalp.

I’ve tried them all. Psoriasis flare up kicks my ass often. I used to use the Neutrogena T-Gel but hated the intense tar smell and how difficult it was to get it. I honestly struggle limiting my usage to 1x a week because it’s effective relief. I cycle through different shampoos and conditioners because fragrances seem to cause irritation, but this product has been truly helpful. I hope this company the best because it’s still reasonably priced.

Ever since I was a little kid, I got chronic ear & throat infections all the time that would last for months. Finally, in my late 30s, I got a job with good medical insurance and went to a doctor to see if he knew how to get rid of them. After a complete exam, I was amazed when he told me that I could by using this DHS tar shampoo, and I was sorely tempted to just blow off his advice; but I figured, "What the hell?" and gave it a go, with very low expectations. After only 2-3 weeks of shampooing with DHS every day, the infection went away and, what's more, didn't come back in a couple of weeks or a month or so as It always had. Before long, I started tapering off using it and within a few weeks, the infection was back. Proof Positive to me, and ever since then, I have used it at least 2-3 times a week, and have never had another infection.

This shampoo is a life saver! You see results on the first week you start using it, no more flakes going around your shoulders! The smell is not that bad if you compare it to the results on your hair.

I had dry scalp like psoriasis and a friend had the same problem. She was in to see a dermatlogist that suggested this shampoo and it works!!! Scalp is no longer bumpy! Great product!

If you have a dry scalp or psoriasis or any skin issue that causes dry skin or dandruff this is the best you can get. I've tried almost everything and this is the best hands down. It is a little expensive for the Oz provided. That is the only downside. It does smell strong but that doesn't translate to the hair after washing.

I've used many Coal tar shampoos earlier like Hi-tar etc but I never had the good results as DHS tar shampoo. It's the best quality coal tar shampoo I ever used. All other brands give us a bad smell while shampooing but this shampoo is odorless which is a happy shampooing experience. Delivery was fast and the products are well packed.
