Like most will say, you gotta know what you're getting into when you buy this. It takes a little work to learn and get it running smoothly. Check out YouTube or the FB pages and you should quickly learn all bout this machine. Out of the box, the only real "fix" i needed to make was to adjust the bobbin arm (not the right term, but I don't know it). It had gotten bumped out of alignment in shipping and the needle didn't line up with the bobbing hole. Just needed to loosen some screws, adjust and then tighten back up. After that I had this thing stitching right off the bat. The biggest thing is you will need to get used to adjusting the tension. Once you get the hang of that you're golden. Lots of folks complained about the tripod. I found it to be sturdy (put two legs toward the front, not like the picture). But, the height of it, i found, was inconvenient for most situations, so I made mynown stand out of cut up 2x4. I didn't have to sand anything down. I might do that to the presser foot at some point. It does come very oily, I wiped it down. Really not other mods to run it for me, other than a thread stand. The bobbin winder can be a little finicky, but the bobbins are a weird size, so there's are not a ton of "out of the box" solutions. Once I got the hang of bobbing winding on the machine, not a big deal. So, I know this is a positive review filled with explanations about the quirks of the machine, but I just wanted to be plain about what you get. I love it. Got it running fast. Does what I need it to. Only complaint is that I ordered a silver machine. This was like a failed painting it green so let's call it silver. It looks like they started painting it green and gave up haha. I dont mind, buy FYI. You might just want to get a full green one

I chose this company because it had the best rating with the most reviewers out of all the other clones. I do believe others have had great success with the machine they received. But judging from the photos, they received a different production run than I did. The first clue was the sample... The sample piece that came with the machine had four stitches in it, but was stopped when the thread was wrapped hopelessly around the bobbin, locking it in place. That took some careful work to remove. The body casting on the machine I received was the same as others had noted - totally acceptable at this price-point. But unlike other machines with smooth steel construction on the rocking arms and shuttle bed, this unit had chrome plating on the arms, shuttle bed, bobbin hatch, and wheel. It looked nice at first glance, but was flaking off in several places leaving nasty sharp edges that cut me several times before I took a wire wheel to the area. The welds were super rough, and the bolt holes that held the shuttle bed to the frame were far enough off alignment that the needle constantly scraped against the side of the opening, fraying the thread. The only way to center the needle in the hole was to use only the first of the three bolts, which worked for the first ten stitches, but would eventually work its way back out of alignment and break the thread. This is so frustrating. I spent three day getting "this close" to having it working. But between the misalignment of the shuttle bed bolts and the sharp chrome flakes, I'm calling it quits. It has SO much potential - there's just too many little things that keep it from being usable.

I read a lot of reviews and watched quite a few videos and decided to take a chance. Glad I did! The machine arrived fairly well packed. There were no bolts and pieces at the bottom of the box but the Styrofoam was broken in places. It was in a plastic bag and very well coated with oil for rust prevention (denatured alcohol cleaned it up nicely). The machine came with ZERO instructions...so You Tube is your friend here. Overall, it looked in good shape. I had heard/seen many videos on the stand/legs being cheap and weak...but I found that lightly hammering the legs to fully fit made it a lot sturdier than what I had seen. I am still planning to make my own mount for it but the legs worked fine initially (Make sure you mount it so the two of the three legs are positions at the needle side of the machine for stability. Initially, I had trouble with the bobbin assembly and found that the timing of my machine was off (again, You Tube to the rescue). After some tweaking and adjusting it sewed right through some pretty heavy double thick leather (see photo). I thought I might upgrade to put a motor on it but have already found that I like the manual control. Overall, I am VERY pleased with what I have for the money and am excited to start some projects. But, it definitely is NOT a take it out of the box and use it immediately kind of machine. Easily worth the money though.

con: ive seen bad build quality in my time, but this is horrendous. Nevermind the boogery welds in one spot, then boogery brazing in others., it looks like someone had a 36 grit flap disc and just went nuts. All armatures are wavy and deep cut sand marks. Pocketed surface from bad casting on the crank wheel. And I have no idea what is going on with the shuttle bed. It’s like all parts were roughed to size, assembled and shipped. Pro: I have not used this yet, but the functionality seems to be sound. Welds seem to at least have some integrity. Parts all seem to be in the right places and the function of the sewing machines action appears smooth, right out the gate. Yes, I knew it wasn’t gonna look great for the price, but I was a bit surprised on how “garage shop” built it looked. I’m a metal fabricator so In the end I’m not that upset about the purchase. I can clean up the finish down the road if I choose. But as far as functional sewing machine for around the $100 price point. I am content with my purchase. Those of you not mechanically inclined. This might require more tlc than you’re assuming.

Same as every other review... greased and dirty, box was good, foam inside squished a little. The machine setup was easy, directions were clear and accurate. With minor assembly it worked right right out of the box! I built a stand from lumber, then sanded and filed rough edges and cleaned it a few times. Put new thread in it, adjusted the tension slightly, and started sewing. After running a few lines on scrap I started to sew a knife sheath. The needle went clear through 3 layers of 10oz leather with rubber cement. Stitches were clean, operations were smooth, and I was really impressed. For the cost of this machine and an hour of assembly and setup, I'm thrilled! This cut down my time sewing heavy leather significantly. There are many YouTube videos out there explaining setup and operation that I watched before ordering this cobbler sewing machine and was well worth it when it came to setup. This machine is quiet, sturdy, and works exactly as I hoped it would! I'm very happy! I can crank out a lot of stitches quickly and have a lot more time to make more goods! (Pun intended)
