Well built, simple design
Trap arrived packed very well. Was surprised to see the quality of the kit, which you have to assemble. Each side is a cleanly-cut acrylic pane, with easy to peel off backing paper that reveals ultra clear plastic. Follow the directions to slide the tabs into the slotted areas and secure the tab with rubber bands, provided. Looks great. Only issue is the tank clamp; it doesn't fit great to the edge of my 55 gal tank, and it's not adjustable. But it kinda works. The other weird thing is the trap door - it uses a plastic fin that you attach to monofilament line they provide (about 4 ft). The fin holds the trap door open until you see the fish swim into the tank. Then you pull the line, and the fin pulls out of the trap door allowing it to drop. Cheap, but effective. Big Mollies were the first to wander in, which is good because they were most what I needed to remove. So far, the tetras are too smart for it. But they'll get hungry eventually.

Simple, effective trap
Nice, effective little trap. They were out of the collapsible version and so I accepted the assembled (glued together) version instead. I had a yoyo loach about three inches long that went rogue and killed a couple of its tankmates. Caught it within two hours after putting this trap in the tank. Works best with aggressive fish that actively explore anything new in their surroundings.

Worked the first time i used it.
Worked good. Pro Easy to put together. Pro Worked the first time. Con Cost ( now i caught the fist on the first try, it will sit on the self.) One time use, cost a bit, but worked.

Doesn’t work
Do not buy this product. You can pull hard or easy, the door comes completely off and doesn’t trap fish. Out of 5 stars I would rank it a minus 10

Works like a Charm
Worked like a charm. Did not feed the fish since yesterday when I ordered it. Assembled it, put it in the tank, let them get used to it being there for a couple of hours and then put some brine shrimp in the little tube. Bam! Within 20 mins my rabbit fish figured out how to go in and my evil snail murdering fish bullying blue damsel followed him in. His serial killer days are over. I thought I would be stuck with that evil bastard forever.

Awesome trap
Ordered Wednesday. Arrived Thursday. Rogue Coral Beauty in another tank Friday. Fantastic trap. For a novice reefer and my first attempt at trapping a fish this was a great piece of equipment. Too bad to lose my CB because it was a beautiful fish with a good personality but he shredded my Rock anemone and Torch so he had to go. Trap took about five minutes to put together, was well built crystal clear acrylic and after about 16 hours of skittishness I had my rogue.

Works but....
First let me say I was disappointed with the seller. The one I received was used. The protective film put on acrylic to protect it during manufacturing had been removed and the parts had water marks on them. However all the parts were included so I kept it. I contacted the seller to see if they might give me a partial refund for a used unit but never heard back. Not that big of a deal but I paid for a new one. So it did work. I eventually caught the fish but not without some experimentation and practice. I assembled it and placed it in the tank. Mine had both a bracket for over the top mount and a suction cup for glass mount. I tried it a few times and found the door would stick or even fall off sometimes. I solved this by first loosening the weight that attaches to the door a little. This allowed the wedge that holds the door up to be inserted farther. I also inserted the wedge into the door slot in the horizontal position instead vertically as the instructions showed. This way the door closed every time. Some reviews said its doesn’t work cause they were never able to catch the fish. Well it’s not a fish magnet. It took over a week of trying and being patient. A couple of fish went into it right away but some, including the one I wanted to catch wouldn’t go near it. Not the traps fault. I kept trying, skipped a couple days feedings (more than once) and was finally successful.

Worked far beyond my expectations!
Ok so I never write reviews. But after several days of losing my mind trying to remove the ever expanding swarm of endlers from my heavily planted lampeye Killifish/ wrestling halfbeak tank I decided to try this. Within fifteen minutes I had about 90% of the adults and the remaining fry are easy enough to net. My only complaint is that the assembly instructions aren't the best. Here's a hot tip: do not use the string. Just have the door up with the swingy thing cocked slightly to keep it open. When they are in, just tap the swing thing and the door will shut. Wish I got this thing sooner. The endlers now have their own tank and I can watch my lampeye Killifish and halfbeaks without endlers swarming the glass.
