I have been playing football at one level or another for VERY LONG time (way too long to say). I wish I had these gloves to protect my hands and fingers when I played football in high school or college. I would have been spared a lot of painful finger jams and subsequent icings.These are the best linemen gloves I have ever worn. The built in splints protect my fingers from hyper extension. Before purchasing these gloves in September, I hyper extended both of my thumbs. I can still feel the effect from this injury in the joints on my thumbs nearly 12 months later. These gloves allowed me to finish my fall season and play an entire spring season without fear of repeating the injury.The gloves are machine washable (which is necessary because of the amount of grime and sweat accumulated on the gloves during a game) and they are very durable. I don't know how they will respond to being thrown in a dryer, so I recommend air drying the gloves. Amazingly the tactile material on the gloves recovers after every wash.If they make a better glove for a lineman in football, I haven't seen them.---FOLLOW UP REVIEW---My original purchase was on 9/2011. It is now spring 2013--1.5 years later and I have not had a single hyper extension in 4 seasons (I play in both a Fall and Spring football league).My only complaint about these gloves is that due to my hand sweat soaking the gloves during the game, they are a little hard to pull on during when you have taken them off (maybe a larger size would fix this problem?). I don't recommend tugging very hard on the nylon wrist strap. If you tug too hard you could separate (tear) the wrist strap away from the glove. I made this mistake when the gloves were brand new and the manufacturer was kind enough to replace them for me under warranty (they probably didn't have to do that since it was my fault). Now when I take the gloves off during a game, I am much more careful about how I pull them back on.

These are top notch 5 star worthy gloves. Good fit and durable. We chose these gloves after a $50 pair we purchased at a Sporting Goods store tore after 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the rating was reduced to 3 stars due to a shipping error. We purchased size XL gloves on Amazon.com. The gloves were to ship from Champs Sports. So far so good. When we received the gloves (in a timely manner, I will say), they were size XXXL ! Good grief! These things were like flippers! So, I called Champs Sports to inform them they screwed up. The person says that I had ordered these from Amazon.com so there was nothing they could do. Excuse me? Well that is strange, I said, because size "Andre the Giant" gloves was not even an option on Amazon.com so the screw up is not with them or me. You shipped me the wrong size. Ok, they agreed. I can return the gloves (for a restocking fee) and they will ship me replacements. I am beginning to think my Son's football season will be over before this is resolved. I said there is no way I am paying a restocking fee for their mistake and I need them to ship me replacement gloves TODAY. They only agreed to this if I would pay for another pair of gloves and then they would credit me when I returned the boat oar sized gloves. I agreed to this but was not happy about it. The new gloves arrived and they credited me upon receipt of my return.

Great build. They look like they could withstand a lot of use and abuse.Pros:Solid built.Best grip I've ever had on a glove.Impossible to hyperextend any hand or finger with them on.On purpose neglected wash and still crisp. After wash, they felt the same as new.Cons:It feels a little tight on the finger tips, enough to take your head out of the game.Wrist strap doesn't provide the same protection as the rest of the glove. Could do with an extra crossed strap.Overall:Best glove on the market right now.

The best lineman glove I have ever worn. Was sworn on Nike for last ten years but after my Hyperbeast 2's tore and after many jammed and broken fingers I decided to try Cutters. I will never go back. This glove give you so much confidence on the field as you do not have to worry about jamming your fingers. The padding is also well integrated and very protective. I was very hesitant to spend $80 on gloves, but after just one game I wouldn't think twice about purchasing these gloves. Trust me they are worth every penny. I play Semi Pro in Texas as a defensive lineman.

Great high end gloves, but the Velcro strap didn’t last a month. One side of the Velcro disintegrated and no longer works. My son won’t let me return them because he doesn’t want to go without the gloves. We did add a strap to that the wrist strap will fasten.

My son is using these while playing on the line. They keep his hands from getting too banged up and from slipping. They are well made will definately lasr more than one season. The only iss is having to take them off halfway through the game because they cause his hands to sweat quite a bit.

I've used the previous version of these gloves and two pairs of the current version (only reason I bought a new pair is I "retired" from semi-pro and gave them away, just to come back the next year). I won't play without these gloves as they save so much wear on my hands. I play center and rather than being a hindrance, the contact patches actually give me better grip. Even better, in the rain when the ball gets slick, the contact patches get even grippier (if that's is a word) since water restores the patches. Can't recommend these gloves enough.

My son loved these gloves at first sight. Once he tried them on, he loved them even more. My son is a 6'5" offensive lineman and the XXXL gloves were perfect but during first use they were torn during a drill. They were ripped at the seam at the wrist.
