The Eagle and the Rose: A Remarkable True Story

This book is fantastic! It helped me more than anything else to break through immense grief of losing my son. The chapter on seances help to enforce my faith that I would see my son again in the after life! Truly a great and comforting read!

I first read this book back in the mid 90's. It was given to me as a present in soft copy. I thought to myself, "Now, why would I want to read the life story of a Psychic?" But, I thought I'd give it a try and once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I had lent it out over time to so many friends, it was old and tattered, so I decided to see if Amazon had a hard copy and they did. It's what a I call a 'keeper'. You won't be sorry if you buy this book and read it....it will change your mind about life after death, and I do believe that Rosemary Altea is authentic. 'The Eagle and The Rose is a special Treat'.

This is a heartfelt story with plenty of detail in all the right places. The author communicates with the dead, empowers the ill with healing energy, and travels thru time. That's a pretty full psychic plate, and we savor the samplings. Despite her extraordinary gifts (and I choose to believe in them), she manages humility throughout and even shares her many insecurities during the spiritual development. My one problem with the story was the voice she chose for the telling which, though sincere, keeps us at a distance. It's as if she channeled someone from a century earlier, someone in a drawing room with a very big skirt. She completely avoids contractions ("...his words do not absolve me from personal pain and anxiety, for I am human and am here on earth to learn"). The resulting tone of the book has a stilted seance quality to it, as if the King's English will make her case for psychic phenomenon more convincing. A good editor would have the author talking, not the author's dead grandmother. Instead of a book, maybe a series of interviews would have been the more relaxed "medium".

It is an easy to read, informative, written with feeling and forgiveness. Parents then did not know any different. They did not think that they were creating hurt feelings and damage. They thought it was necessary to be tough. And interestingly, those children that did get a lot of discipline and at times abuse, often turned out better than the ones that were spoiled too much. There was nothing that I didn’t like about this book. It felt honest, soul bared for us to see her and her gift. Her life could have gone so many ways. Thank God for her bravery.

A gentle and kind yet clear and profound confirmation of the wonderful universe we live in. The heart goes out to Rosemary in thankfulness and Love for all the work she and her Guide are doing in God’s creation. Rosemary represents the future and hope of what we can become if only we choose the Path of Light.

Rosemary Altea is fabulous. She is very detailed and starts the book right out in perfect form of what she does best guidance from others on the other side. Kudos to you Rosemary. I would recommend this book to anyone who seeking healing from those on the otherside for she teaches one that it is possible to receive healing and understanding and freedom from those on the otherside and that they are ok and all is well.
