Can the beep sound be stopped by the user? Or must user wait for the time it takes for the beep sound to automatically stop by itself?

Alarm doesn't last all that long (less than a minute) so I never had occasion to stop it in advance...actually I would sometimes re-beep it to find what I'm looking for.

I don't understand the question. It is battery operated. Batteries need to be replaced when they wear out. It does not have to have money to have it connected. You buy it, put in batteries and behold: it works.

I don’t have exact info on the distance, but I do know that it works throughout our ranch home, no matter what room I’m in.

no...if pets out of range it's out of range...just look for the one that has the longest range
