Good variety of small brushes. Nice travel case and metal lids that protect brushes. I have used these on several trips. I usually also take along one larger mop brush for washes.

I WANTED to love these, I really tried but they have a major flaw. If using yellow and then blue, if I don’t want to end up with green I have to actually wash the brush with brush soap 2-3 full wash and rinses in between the colors otherwise the ferrule holds so much pigment it contaminates the pan while picking up the next color AND mixes on the page ruining your painting, and this problem is consistent in all 5 brushes in this set. I first thought “maybe just the 8 does it” but the 2 did the same exact same thing. Also, and I have never seen this before, when rinsing in your water cup, the outside of the ferrule, the marek seems to collect residue of the color your rinsing off the bristles like it attracts the pigment to it creating a fine layer you can see and wipe off with a paper towel. I’ve never seen this before and I am using my single pigment professional paints which I know very well and have never done that before in any brush I have ever used. I will say, even though it’s useless information because the brushes are just un-usable, that the bristles do come to an amazing point, retain AND dispense paint absolutely evenly and beautifully and retain a great amount of liquid as well as snap back to a point with ease while still being extremely soft so not to disturb previous layers as you build your painting up layer by layer. These are all qualities you really want in a brush but that pigment retention causing so much cross color contamination seriously makes this entire set just I’m unable to use and I cannot recommend them at all. I am very sadly extremely disappointed in these. Creative Mark, if you see this, please fix this problem somehow, and release a corrected version and i will be your first customer then!!!

Love these!! Now I don't have to carry a large bag with my brushes, these are good brushes. I did these 3 paintings with the brushes.

I purchased this set after watching a review on you tube the set came promptly and I took them out and closed each one to place them in the travel case that was included. The last brush a small flat goes into to tube but both ends butt against each other and it does not close so it will not fit in the case fir travel. I purchased the set for an up coming trip

I've never written a review before but I was so disappointed in these travel brushes that I wanted to spare someone else the same experience. I absolutely love their regular brushes so I was really excited to see this travel set. Unfortunately, these brushes are not up to par. All of the brushes are on the smaller side and I was missing have a nice large round brush. The flat brush is a cool idea and isn't usually seen in travel sets but it's so small that it's pretty useless. The size of the brushes is disappointing but it's on me for not paying more attention to the item description. The real kicker for me is that the largest round doesn't come to a good point. It was a bit deformed and no amount of trying to reshape it has helped. I can also tell by the way the bristles are cut that it wouldn't have come to a good point even without being misshapen. Definitely not up to the standard of other Mimic brushes.

Compact for plein air painting.

I was super excited to get this travel brush set, opened it up and noticed there weren’t any plastic brush protectors on them. I thought maybe they didn’t put them on the travel set because the barrel sort of protected them. I also noticed the top part of the metal that is used to extend the brush is scratched quite a bit on every single brush. So I get them home and start washing them with my brush cleaner and I notice that two of them have green paint coming out of them and a third one had purple paint come out of it. I’m very disappointed that this set is clearly used and I paid a brand new price for them. Thankfully the bristles themselves are not damaged but there is cosmetic damage to the metal on all the brushes. I think the quality of the brushes would have been great if not for them already been used. I’m still excited to use the set but it has definitely diminished the experience. I really thought Jerry’s artarama could be trusted because we have a local store nearby and it’s great but I guess you don’t get the same quality everywhere.
