Great Product, Exceeds Expectations
Iโm more than impressed with the clay bar and the solution. Iโve cleaned vehicles for many years but was always hesitant to use a clay bar. Man Iโve been missing out. This was easy to use, solution smelled good, Clay bar worked great and results are amazing. No more using tar removing chemicals and struggling with sap, Clay bar takes care of it all and leaves an amazing shine after a quick spray of wax. Enough to clay bar 3 vehicles which I think is great value for the money! As a first time user Iโm impressed and it exceeded my expectations I would highly recommend this product!

Works as promised, glad I used it
I purchased two of the Chemical Guys Clay Bar & Lubricant Kits to remove the impurities in the clearcoat of two of my vehicles. I had never used a clay kit before and had decided after watching a YouTube video to give it a go prior to waxing. The first vehicle, a 2009 Mini Cooper (silver with a black top) is in good shape, but if you were to run your hand across the paint, particularly on the roof, you could feel the bumps in the clearcoat. I decided to get it washed and give this kit a try, making sure to use back-and-forth motions and not circular ones as I went along. The lubricant spray has a pleasant odor. The spray allows the claybar to glide across the surface of the car. It's important to generously spray the lubricant and not allow the claybar to have any drag on the surface. I probably could have used a medium-duty claybar for the Mini, but the light-duty claybar with this kit did work well, it just took me more passes in the same area before it bacame smooth. I folded the claybar multiple times while working on the car and could see the impurities being picked up by it on the claybar as little dark bits. I wore rubbler gloves while completing the claybar exercise on my vehicle. I'd recommend that, as I think the lubricant may stain your hands with a light blue color. I also think that if you ran out of lubricant spray while doing the claybar rub of your vehicle, you could use soapy water. After the claybar of my car I waxed it. The results were excellent and I could see how this kit helped me to achieve a "like new" appearance of the paint. This was particularly noticeable on the black top, which was shiny like glass without any water spots or bumps. I recommend this product to anyone who has noticed a bumpiness to their clearcoat and wants to take an extra bit of care to refresh their vehicle's paint. It does take time to do this and it is an extra step between washing and waxing, but once a year or so - it's worth it - to keep your vehicle looking nice!

Works great, and itโs easier than I thought it would be
I thought Clay barring would be tedious and difficult, but it was really easy. I bought this kit to do my windows because Iโm obsessed with having them clean and polished and hydrophobic. Used half of the bar and did my entire full size truck, including the mirrors and a few of the plastic lights that were a little dull. It seemed too easy and I wondered if I was accomplishing anything. But the surfaces were very slick afterwards. The next day I used Chemical Guys ceramic glass cleaner and the glass was so much easier to clean with no resistance on the cloth. The results look great.

Itโs good but donโt expect it exceed your expectations
Let me start off by saying this is a real review from not someone who is a pro at detailing. I have been detailing my own car using a variety of products over the years however. So 2nd of all this is a GOOD product especially at the price. I have an 07 Sierra with 4 years of ownership it hasnโt been clay barred or waxed in years but this product really did work, made the paint smooth and I topped it with some turtle wax hybrid spray. What to expect: to take away contaminants from the top coat What NOT to expect: to fix any scratch, swirls, old/deep marks like water spots or old asphalt, and paint issues (pictures above are before the clay bar and it 100% looks the same after the clay bar just smoother. Itโs just either top coat issues or paint issues I have to fix) This isnโt a miracle product that solves everything for you, youโll likely need a mixture of products to get the results you want. LSS: I recommend this product just donโt expect it to be the answer to everything wrong with your paint EDIT: as a precaution Iโd look over the bottle of lumber THROUGHLY mine sat upright and somehow leaked I had half the bottle left and by the time I went looking for it, it was all gone.

Excellent Clay for new-ish paint and glass
Fantastic product, BUT you MUST know how to use it. So many negative reviews are "user error", because this stuff requires skill and a lot of patience (not to mention an arm/shoulder workout). The clay is the perfect composition, easy enough to work, but it doesn't break up or disintegrate even with aggressively working at my windshield (I wouldn't work that hard on the paint). I have not tried the "heavier" versions as I have a newer vehicle and the paint is well maintained (my family would say "obsessively" or "babied"), I just don't know about the "black" one, you want the clay to have a color where you can see it is dirty. The luber is good, but just about any detail spray will work, just DON'T do a "quick wax" or "wash and wax" with clay, you gum up the clay and lock the contaminates into the paint instead of lifting them off. Not a fan of the bubble gum smell, but there are worse smells out there (I'm looking at you Turtle Wax). Clay has 2 purposes: 1. Full decontamination or 2. Spot removal of tar, sap, etc. I've used it for both now with great results. My most common use is removing tree sap from paint and glass without resorting to a harsh cleaner. After taking delivery of my new vehicle, I expected there to be some amount of "rail dust" and other contamination from the shipping process. I wasn't wrong and this worked wonders. Before doing any kind of sealant on the paint, you want to make the clay bar part of this process: 1. Deep clean wash (something like "Clean Slate" or Dawn or a De-greaser), 2. Chemical decontamination with an iron remover, 3. Clay bar to mechanically remove any remaining contaminants. Finish up optionally with mechanical polishing (new car so I'll do this next year), then a sealant, wax, or coating. Working with a clay bar: 1. Tear or cut off a small piece (1/4 of the bar) removing ANY plastic wrap, there are plastic sheets on BOTH sides of this bar, absolutely be sure it is gone and it is very sticky so this isn't easy, 2. spray the clay and your fingers with the luber, 3. work the clay into a half dollar size disk, feel for any odd textures (pieces of plastic left over, I found one once), 4. spray luber on a 1-2 foot section of paint, 5. working in small circles over that section a couple of passes, add more luber as needed, it should ALWAYS be gliding across the paint or glass, never sticking or dragging, 6. wipe off with a microfiber towel and inspect visually and tactility it should be a tad shinier and be incredibly smooth, 7. the clay should now have some amount of discoloration (love the yellow color as it shows this VERY well), fold it over, knead it back into a disk so a clean surface shows again, go back to step 4 and repeat over the entire vehicle paint and glass. IF the clay has become dark to the point you can't get a clean surface OR you have dropped it on the ground, DISCARD IT and get another piece. That last bit is critical, if the clay itself gets contaminated too much it will start to scratch the paint.

Removed paint drift from vehicle.
This works so well. I had been painting nearby my vehicle and accidentally got drift on my vehicle, a black vehicle. With a little patience, following up with the polishing spray, I was able to get almost all of it off and the vehicle looks better than it has looked in over a year. I've bought the medium clay bar to try to work on the last stubborn area. Thank you for saving my vehicle.

Vehicle Spa Day
I recently purchased the Chemical Guys CLY_113 OG Clay Bar & Lubber Synthetic Lubricant Kit from Amazon, and let me tell you, my Jeep's transformation from "mud-caked behemoth" to "showroom star" has been nothing short of magical. If you've ever dreamed of giving your vehicle a spa day, this kit is your ticket to automotive luxury. First off, the clay bar is like the Jedi Master of detailing tools. I half-expected it to start speaking in cryptic wisdom about "the force" of clean paint. It effortlessly glided over every inch of my Jeep, removing debris and contaminants like it was on a mission to make my vehicle shine so brightly it could be seen from space. And the lubricant? Oh boy, itโs like the spa's finest massage oil for your ride. It made the clay bar glide over the surface so smoothly, I half-expected my Jeep to sigh with contentment. My Jeep went from looking like it had been through a mud wrestling match to having that โI just got a makeoverโ glow. The process was so satisfying that I mightโve spent more time detailing than actually driving. My neighbors were probably wondering why I was waxing my Jeep in the middle of a downpourโhey, itโs called dedication! Letโs not forget the bonus: my Jeep is now so clean it might actually start attracting compliments from people who previously thought it was a lost cause. Iโve even caught it looking longingly at car shows, probably contemplating a career change. In conclusion, if you want to turn your dirt-covered, rugged beast into a gleaming, showroom-worthy chariot, the Chemical Guys Clay Bar & Lubber Synthetic Lubricant Kit is your new best friend. Just be prepared for the flood of compliments and the inevitable urge to drive around with your windows down, showing off that mirror-like finish. ๐โจ๐งผ

Smooth and perfect paint finish!
This is what you need. Paint is perfectly smooth. You think your car is cleaned and polishedโฆ wait till you see what clay barring pulls out of the clear coat. The lubricant is excellent, minty. I recommend wearing gloves. The lube stained my hands a little. Nothing that wonโt come out after spending a whole day, barring, polishing, glazing, waxing! Yellow is definitely the way to go if you donโt have heavy contaminated clear coat. My paint finish now feels smooth as wet-ice! I have enough left over to do this 4-5times over with this kit.
