A timeless tale so beautifully told. Simply brilliant.

I bought this book for " Heart of Darkness ", thinking it would be a good way of discovering Conrad. Even though the novella is considered a classic (from 1899), I find it hasn't aged well, mostly because of its wordiness and slow pace. Unless it is just me not coming along well with the author's style. I didn't feel like reading the two additional stories ("Youth" and "The End of the Tether") "Heart of Darkness" is in the public domain, freely available on the internet, but perhaps a bit too long to be read comfortably online. In addition, the Wordsworth Classics edition includes an introduction and some useful contextual notes.

Die literarische Vorlage zu "Apocalypse Now" behandelt menschliche Abgründe. Teil der literarischen Allgemeinbildung. Die übrigen Geschichten haben mir etwas weniger zugesagt.
