Very thick.
This THICK mat is perfect for my back. It is the envy of the seniors at my mat Pilates class. My complaint is that the carry strap stretches out since it is elastic, and makes it hard to carry the rolled up mat. The carry strap needs to be non elastic with hook and loop closure.

The box where the yoga mat comes in, has a big Warning about the product being made with cancerous material. How can Amazon sell these type of product without checking if its totally safe?
