Eye opening
This was an easy read but it also captivated me like a good mystery. Too many passages in this book described me to a T that I can't dismiss the premise of what she is saying. The only problem for me is that the boom feels light on solutions to change my attachment type. But recognizing the probkem s is the first step.

Great resource for learning about and understanding Attachment Theory
I'm a counselor and have been looking for a good book to recommend to clients who are new to understanding Attachment Theory. This book has a well written and easy to read style and unlike some of the other books on attachment, it has recommendations on how to improve your attachment style and case examples of other people to help the reader understand how the concepts might apply to different backgrounds. Great resource!

Helpful tips for developing healthier relationships
As promised, this book describes attachment patterns in children, teens, and adults and explains how these patterns affect our adult relationships. The author explains all four attachment styles: secure, anxious/ambivalent, dismissing/avoidant, and the often-neglected unresolved/disorganized style. What I like best about this book is that the author provides suggestions for how someone with one of the insecure attachment styles can improve their romantic relationships and parenting. She maintains that anyone can learn how to function more securely and enjoy a safe, nurturing relationship. To that end, she provides tips and exercises for working on your own attachment issues as well as learning how to understand and get along better with people of different attachment styles.I recommend this book for anyone interested in improving their relationships with coworkers, family, friends, and romantic partners.I was provided an unproofed ARC through NetGalley that I volunteered to review.

Attachment Theory explained
Thank you Netgalley for this advanced copy for me to listen to and review. I'm a marriage and child therapist so I was so happy to listen to this audio version about Attachment Theory. I've always been fascinated by Attachment theory and this author did a very nice job giving an introduction to it and applying it to our lives and relationships. I personally feel anyone having children should read this book as it would help you understand why you react the way you do to your child. Having a spouse, and or a child brings alot of past family issues to the surface. It can be good to be aware of what your dealing with.Have fun.Great book!
