What standards must these meet to rate as '"law enforcement"? are they legal for civilian possession and/or use? don't need trouble, no sir.

Accepted Answer

I am not aware of a standard for law enforcement use such as a specific NIJ Standard for caribiners.   These are meant to secure accessories to a belt, pants, or molle platform.  These certainly are not meant for climbing or securing heavy objects, but more for items such as keys, the ASP Tri-fold cuffs or the ASP Scarab Cutter.

What is the weight rating for these?

Far less than their advertised 275lbs.  I would not trust it with any amount of weight or force.

The gate and spring are cheap and flimsy.  It's wobbles from side to side and is not well made.  I accidentally nudged one of  these carabiners off a table onto a wood floor, it fell about 30 inches.  The spring popped out of the gate, rendering it nonfunctional.  The spring is more flimsy than a retractable pen but otherwise similar.  It's not worth the price, and it's unsafe for tie down or suspension with any amount of load or tension.

What color and size will I receive? There are two sizes and several colors. Thx.

Question 4

It looks thick, at least thicker than the average Al. carabiner. True?

It does look that way for some reason. But,  I compared side to side to an aluminum carabiner that I have and visually it seemed that they were identical thickness.
