A Smaller, Nearly Perfect Compromise To A Full-Blown Comfort Seat.
My son (and my wife for that matter) cannot stand those skinny uncomfortable seats that most mountain bikes have. I don't mind, but then again, they don't ride as much as I do, so they are not used to it. So, before I rebuilt one of our old TREK bikes which will have included a new seat, I decided to look into what's out there in terms of comfort and, for that lack of a better term, sportiness. I wanted something comfortable yet still compact -- a not-so-big seat that would not overpower the rest of the bike, in other words. When it comes to aftermarket parts and accessories for bikes, things like bags and handle bars and whatnot, I really like what Sunlite has to offer. They offer stuff of the highest quality at affordable prices, and their line of CLOUD 9 comfort seats are no different. As for the seat: According to my son who rides the bike the most, he thinks that this seat is very comfortable. I believe now that he will actually ride this bike more often. My wife, too, thinks that it is better than most seats, but she also thinks that it is still not as comfortable as a full-blown comfort seat with their wide saddle and spring-loaded goodness. It's true, this seat is a compromise, but a pretty darn good compromise, nonetheless. Though a huge comfort seat would have made this particular bike look weird, like a big UFO had landed on the seat post. The color scheme of the seat is neutral, with its colors of grey and dark grey. It should look fine on a wide range of bikes. It comes with one of those old-school seat post clamps, but you can take it off and use the more modern clamp that is already built on to newer seat posts. By the way, Sunlite makes really great, high-quality seat posts too. The foam top is very comfortable; it's very squishy. And the rubber-bumper style springs work continually while you pedal, slightly rocking back and forth with each leg pump, not to mention too that they absorb a ton of bumps on really rocky ground. My only beef is that heavier folks like me who weigh over 200 pounds can really give those rubber springs quite a workout. It seems to me that I am either bottoming them out or that they are under a lot of stress when riding over the harshest of terrain. It's a somewhat annoying feeling. They also make that familiar sound when springs are under stress, sorta like a grinding noise. Though, I'm sure this would be true for all comfort seats, and that I probably would bottom out all but the most springiest of them. Then again, I'm so used to a rigid seat, that a seat like this would probably just take time to get used to. Sunlite makes the very same CLOUD 9 seat but WITHOUT the rubber springs. So, perhaps that might be the way to go if you are heavy. Either that or get a full-blown, monstrous comfort seat. If you want a more modern-looking comfort seat that isn't the size of a UFO but still provides plenty of squishy comfort, then you really can't go wrong here. Highly Recommended!

So comfortable and stable on hardtail and full suspension mtn bikes...LOVE this bike seat
Man, I got lucky and my local bike shop had one of these, and once I put it on my hardtail, I was hooked, and have bought 3 for my full suspension mtn bike and replaced my original spring version with this newer one. They work great and the gel does hold up for a longggg time. My old one still felt good, but after like 4 or 5 yrs of use when I sat on the new one I noticed a little bit of a difference. Anyhow, great seats and also. I've been over 220lbs the whole time I have owned the original and new ones.

Cloud-9 is almost right!
Expectation: Allows me to plant my buttocks on upon it while peddling, and doesn't produce a numbness in my nether regions during extended use... All without looking like I've mounted a full size love seat to my bicycle. Results: I can easily ride my bicycle for long periods of time while in the seated position and not have any "numbing" side effects. Plus, no wider [or longer] than my previous saddle. I like to go for longish rides, over both trail and road, and I like to be comfortable. This saddle, thus far, allows me to do exactly that. I've put just a tad over 120 miles on this saddle, with ~65% of that in a single trip. The suspension blunts bumps in the trail -- really nice when you have a hardtail. The ample gel padding keeps my cheeks well cushioned. Most importantly, that indentation in the middle really works, and after 5 hours of riding, I don't have an uncomfortable tingly sensation in places that shouldn't be feeling uncomfortable or tingly. The outside covering is durable -- having fallen more than once now --- against stuff that would tear lesser seats. So it's all kittens, rainbows, and fluffy clouds right? Not quite. First, this seat is heavy. One does not expect to buy a suspension seat, with lots of super comfy gel padding and have it be light-as-a-feather, so this shouldn't surprise anyone. Still, it's worth mentioning that you're getting a lot of seat. As mentioned in another review, I found the seat rails were about a millimeter wider than my seat post clamp. Just enough to make mounting this seat a problem. I fixed this this by bending my top bracket ever so slightly. I'm glad I could work around this problem, because this is the comfiest bicycle saddle I've had the pleasure to rest my derriere upon.

Super squishy and no soreness
Havent riden a bicycle in over 20years. I got a new bike and tried the stock Walmart Genesis saddle, tried a MTB saddle, tried a generic wide extra squishy saddle on amazon, this is the one to get. I attempted to measure my sit bone width and figure out correct height and distance of the saddle and it was a nuisance, got the Mens Cloud9 saddle, installed with no effort in a relatively more downward slopping angle and it just works. No soreness, great bounce to it even on my mountain bike, wide enough for 170lb man.

OK, but there are better options...
Everyone's anatomy is different - I am male, 5'9" and 173 lbs - so your experience may be different than mine. I have tested 6 different saddles between my road bike and a ProForm 290 SPX Indoor Cycle Trainer I use on rainy days. The six saddles were: 1) Serfas Performance RX (very good for a road bike - its on mine), 2) Serfas E-Gel Hybrid Bicycle Saddle With Cut Out (by far, the worst and least comfortable - see my review on this item), 3)Selle Royal Lookin Moderate Cool Xsenium Bi-Color Actex Bicycle Saddle (2nd worse due to pressure to the perineum area), 4)the stock seat that came on the ProForm 290 SPX (uncomfortable for long rides, but better than #2 and #3 above), 5) Velo Elastomer Bicycle Saddle (this saddle is extremely comfortable AND it happens to be the least expensive - its the one I chose for the ProForm 290), and the 6) Sunlite Cloud-9 Bicycle Suspension Comfort Saddle (better than #2,#3,#4, but uncomfortable compared to the Velo Elastomer saddle). When I received the Sunlite Cloud-9 saddle, I expected it would be the most comfortable saddle based on how it felt when pressed or squeezed. However, upon riding it, I found it harder than the Velo. It lacked enough support on the sit bones while creating more pressure on the perineum area. This may be a result of the downward slanted sit bone pads, which leaves the center of the seat as the highest point. Also, the double stitched seam that goes around the seat between the different colored areas is very rough. It tends to catch on your shorts and creates some chafing between the legs. Overall, it is an ok saddle, but I found the Velo Elastomer saddle to be much more comfortable.

Loved this saddle on my mountain bike!
Wow, after switching over from one of the old style, small, extremely hard, competition saddles to this beauty, I was amazed! It fit my sit bones just perfectly and felt like a dream! No more saddle soreness! I even think it is probably the more appropriate size for a mountain bike as it isn't as large as most "crusier" style saddles but it remains slim enough to comfortably ride with even when really putting the power to the wheels. I had read one review that said that his got wet and started coming apart, so I added three layers of scotchguard to help with that problem. I don't ride in the rain, but just in case, it couldn't hurt. The company name of Cloud 9 is very fitting for this saddle as it has just the right amount of gel padding to be comfortable without being too squishy. The elastomer spring and coil springs also help in mitigating any discomfort in my seat when I hit bumps with my non-suspension mountain bike. I highly recommend this saddle to anyone looking for more comfort. The seat is also very attractive on my bike which is black with splashes of blue and grey on it. I am biking into Yosemite National Park in a few months and will update my review when it is completed. I expect to be on my bike for a number of hours that day and I have high hopes for my tail bone. It is important to note that this saddle comes ready to mount on a pillar style post. Thanks to Cloud 9 for putting the joy back in my bike riding!

Good , smaller , saddle with a little cushion.
Been using this for a year or so and has held up well. It isn't as big as a lot of the cloud nine seats ( which I used before and liked) . Good cushion but not so much that it feels like a pillow. As I lost weight I wanted a narrower seat and this fills the bill.

HARDCORE RIDER LOVES THIS SEAT
Been riding mountain bike since they were invented. I feel much better at the end of the ride( usually 30+kms). This seat is a bit wide for extreme biking but i am used to it now. Will never use another seat brand. I have this seat on all 3 of my bikes. E bikes and regular bike.

Good saddle
Great seats super comfortable. I’ve now done about 200 miles on my bike. I’ve built up some sit muscles. So I may go back to my original saddle and that’s only due to the size of this saddle it is big.

Nice quality
Nice quality seat, solid.

Scratched mounting hardware
The seat wasn’t attached to the cardboard display. The mounting bolt and nuts are scratched and it looks like they were used. Seems to me that I received a previously returned seat, and paid full price. I attached the seat using the rails only, no using the scratched pieces, so the seat looks great and is comfortable. Just shouldn’t have been changed full price.
