What's eating you?
These things are amazing, easy to use, VERY effective at trapping and keeping the Japanese Beetles. They are a non toxic(to everything else in the garden) inexpensive way to capture and cleanly dispose of the beetles chewing up your flowers, especially ROSES. The trap assembles in about 2 minutes, including the addition of the flower scented bait. Cleanly dispose of the trap bag once a week, or when you have a lot of beetles in it.

Works great!
I am honestly shocked at how well this worked. It work fast as soon as we put it up and it caught hundreds (maye thousands) of beetles last season with one on either end of our yard. The pods and plastic parts on the top had no durability issues, but the metal stand sold separately is junk. The design is simple and clever but I highly recommend handing it from a slick surface with as little twist-tie/rope as possible. The beetles will absolutely find any clingy surface they can and will hold onto that instead of going for the smell pods. The trap works best when the beetles simply fly into the slick yellow panels with nothing to grip on, and fall into the trap once they try to land. Had a very strong smell of cloves (quite nice actually) and once the trap was full it was easy to clean up and pop-off the bag and replace. I've heard concerns about this drawing more beetles to your yard and subsequently to your plants. Our plants were already so covered it surely didn't matter, and I think it's far better to take out a significant part of their population in the area, which this definitely did. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a Japanese beetle infestation.

Pretty good
Works pretty good, stand is a little flimsy, doesn’t do well on windy days. It does catch a lot of beetles if placed in the right location. Easy to assemble, but seems a little pricey but it does catch the bugs!!

Good product. Does what it says.
Worked well over the summer season. Just make sure to put it pretty far away from the trees (at least 30-50 feet away); as this is a very strong attractor for the bugs and if placed to close to the trees, it may inadvertently invite the bugs from far away in, rather than repelling them away from the trees.

Worked great to protect tomato's and flowers - with a bonus!
I had tomato plants, and man those damn beetles were EVERYWHERE this year. I got these, and I was honestly very skeptical on how this would turn out. While it was the cure all solution, if definitely reduced the number of beetles on the flowers and tomatoes such that I still had tomato's and flowers left. These things work. I had about 1000 of these things in the bag. Also as a side effect, the beetles SWARM around the bag, and the birds noticed this, so I also had a bunch of birds hanging around it grabbing all the beetles. Bonus. The way it is designed, it wont hurt the birds.

Does the job!
These work like a charm! After a year of using two of these in my yard, and manually picking off beetles, this year two of these took care of them. I think I’ve solved the problem and will use them every year to keep the beetles at bay.

Not a sure-fire preventive for Japanese beetles.
The 'Bag-a-Bug' does work. I've discovered a number of Japanese beetles in the bottom of the bag. That said, assembling it isn't obvious, and the instructions on the package were somewhat confusing. The bag, once assembled, needs to be hung somehow - either from a flower pole or something similar. I didn't find any guidance on how high off the ground to suspend the bag. I also found that Japanese beetles still landed on nearby roses, so it doesn't capture all of them. The old 'hunt and squish' method I've been using, is a good step to follow alongside hanging the bag.

A game changer
Wow! Why did I wait so long to try these?! I had tried Neem Oil with mixed successes and knew these bags existed. I remember seeing them on lawns as a kid! I think I always assumed using an attractant instead of a repellent for pests was not a solid idea. However, this product changed my mind! I watched the beetles fly off of my fruit trees and over to the trap. They were crawling on it before I got it hung up! Super simple to use. Easy to swap out bags if needed and they’re incredibly effective. I likely have 3 or 4 dozen in both traps on the first day! I’ve even checked the trees since using this item and they aren’t bothering them much at all. They had almost deforested both almost overnight but fingers crossed for no more damage. As long as the bait stays this strong? They’ll last all season.
