After purchasing another similar machine which did not work, was cheaply made and was a major disappointment for my 6 yr old grandson on his birthday. I ordered this this one after returning the original machine My g-son was sooooo happy and my daughter said it worked like a charm. I liked the design because of the ice depositing until an enclosed container there wasn’t a big mess to clean up due to the melted ice or just in general missing the container. The best part is this machine is the lever you apply for pressure On the ice to shaves it appropriately and efficiently, Which is very important to make the ice otherwise it just hangs in the chute and won’t grind. Makes great fluffy ice. Love it and it’s easiy to clean and the kids can safely use it. Thanks cuisines for making an affordable machine that works .

This ice shaver looks pretty in red. Brings out the "happy" in any celebration or get together. The machine is easy to operate. When you feed the ice, a gentle push will activate the machine. It has a safety feature that when you open the ice feeder, machine automatically stops even when switch is turned on. It has a big shaved ice reservoir so you don't have to frequently open and empty it. It's a time saver. There are also 4 cone cup holders on both sides. Pretty handy. Ice scoop is round shaped to give the treat top a nice dome shape. It produces a nice, fine shaved ice, perfect for snow cone or Halo-halo snack! Noise can get as loud as you would expect solid ice to bang against plastic container. Price is affordable and reasonable. Hope this machine lasts.

I bought this as a replacement for nugget ice. Due to the quarantine with COVID-19 I was dent home to work. Within one week I realized I was snacking too much and missed snacking on the good nugget ice at work. I bought this machine as a replacement and LOVE it. It helped to stop my snacking and helps me consume more water throughout the day. The design is quite nice for pool parties. Has a place to hold the snow cones and the drawer removes easily. The pusher mechanism is plastic but seems to be sturdy and I haven't experienced any problems. I'm probably going to be hesitant to let others (especially kids) use it since I feel like they will try to force it down instead of gently applying pressure. I'll know more soon enough how well it lasts when others use it this summer. The ice is finely shaved and tastes and feels great. Just like a professional snow cone. It comes with reusable snow cone cups (which are nicely made) and some disposable ones. The scoop is great and we last forever. It is also just the right size for a typical glass, which is great since I'm using for crushed ice instead of snow cones. For clean up I just remove the bin and set it aside. I open the chute and then put a dish towel underneath where the water will drip as the left over ice melts. Then I just let it air out. Easy peasy! Oh yeah, it has great safety mechanisms. Have to have the arm down in order for it to turn on, also have to have bin in place. So no accidental or experimental dangers can happen. Also has a safety for over filling the chut. Great purchase for making several snow cones or just one.

This is our first snow cone maker / ice shaver. We were looking for something more of entry level, easy and at the same time not too flimsy. We've looked at several brands and this Cusinart Snow Cone Maker caught our eyes. Attractive beautiful red color. Great design with a container to hold the ice -- means no mess like other more expensive snow cone makers with a bowl in the open. Reasonable priced. Very easy to use. We're using the wedge shape ice cubes from the fridge, and the shaved ice comes out very thin, just like snow. It was a big hit at a family get together for Mother's Day. Kids loved it, and so did the adults. Couple minor things that could have been better: the whole handle/arm is made of plastic, so it feels like it could break with strong force, so be careful, not to push it down too hard to shave the ice. The blades seem sturdy. Not sure how long they will last or get dull. Doesn't look like they're easy to replace. We have used it few times a week for a couple months now, and the ice still comes out fine, not chunky. Overall, Cusinart is a great brand and this ice shaver is great fun, for a reasonable price.

It has been a hot summer where I live and a cool snow cone is refreshing. This machine is so easy to set up and use and found that two large ice cubes will make enough shaved ice for one cone. The plastic cups that come with this can be used alone or I put paper cones inside as those always tend to either leak or get soggy before finishing cone. But inside plastic one works great. The scoup works well especially to put a rounded top though it is good to do that over sink. And enough left for my dog to enjoy the shaved ice too! Syrup from Amazon very good but anyone who has to watch sugar should note most of these are 20% of daily sugar so prediabetic and diabetic may want to find syrup with less sugar. All told I am very happy with this purchase. I am enjoying it and now my children and grandchildren will enjoy when come to visit.Ok now I feel bit stupid but perhaps others may run into same problem. Found that after use best to leave the ice tray out to dry. I did that and then when making another found machine would not turn on. Thought maybe circuit breaker but then realized I had not put the tray back in. A safety feature obviously. Just in case you run into this good to know.

Finally, a home snow cone maker that actually works properly and doesn’t cost a fortune.

Weak product also needs a converter plug. It actually burnt out I didn't get to use it for my daughter's party.

Works easy and well. Can do several servings at once. Only real part to clean is the clear plastic box that holds the ice after shaved. Can do an ice cube tray full of ice at a time. Then easily add another and then another til quantity required. safety feature, won't work if handle that pushes ice down to blades is out of the chute. Will only work when handle is pressed down in closed position to shave the ice.
