I took this on the recommendation of my nurse practitioner to improve my HDL/LDL numbers. I have genetically high cholesterol and refuse to take statins. I donated blood 2-3 weeks after starting to take these and noticed an improvement in my numbers already! My numbers are better, still high but in the low 200s overall. I’m very pleased with their efficacy. If this brand doesn’t yield the results you hope to see, don’t give up. Try another brand! Our bodies are unique and there is no “one size fits all” supplement or prescription!

I literally got back my blood panel results and my LDL cholesterol dropped 51 points and overall cholesterol dropped 59 points. I take two of these guys per day...EXTREMELY PLEASED that I actually made it a point to write a review (I rarely do something like this unless I think it's amazing quality).

Great Feel Better already

Learning I was in the early stage of metabolic syndrome jolted me into getting more serious about my health. Along with more exercise, better diet, better sleep and stress management, my doc suggested I also try red yeast rice, before we go to statins. I am very skeptical about supplements and their lack of testing and regulation (and red yeast rice has a long and contentious history), but Thorne brand seemed to be highly regarded and does independent testing. Also, this brand was specifically recommended by the Mayo clinic. In 3 months, I achieved complete return to normal on all my stats, and my total cholesterol dropped 40 points. Of course, I will never know how much these capsules contributed, since I did all the other things too. I'm not going to stop taking them unless they seem to have stopped working for me. My dietician did say that for me a therapeutic dose is 2400mg (4 capsules) daily. Getting the dosage right matters, so check for yourself on that. These capsules are definitely worth it, in my opinion.

Great alternative to statins. I’ve been taking them 3 months now recommended by my doctor. I haven’t noticed any side effects which is a super plus for me. They are a little pricey but they are organic so to me it’s worth the money. I’m giving only 4 stars because of the size of these things. I wish they could be made smaller. I guess you could open them to take it which I’ve done the taste isn’t so great tho. Overall great alternative if you suffer from cholesterol issues.

I started taking this RYR product along with Thorne's Berberine and Cholestoff Plus after getting my bloodwork back in July. My LDL was 206. Triglycerdies were good and HDL was good. I did not incorporate exercise, but i did cut out red meat and reduce cheese. I did another round of blood work in November (4 months roughly) and my LDL came down to 133. I would say i was consistent for the most part, but i did miss some days here and there and actually missed the entire week before giving blood due to travel and ate horrible. I had been preparing myself for a statin and now i am convinced I can improve further if i add some exercise into the mix and stick to the plan. I did also take Fish Oil and liquid COQ10 so there are obviously a number of variables to consider here. Over the 4 months i took 2 pills a day - sometimes 1 with lunch and 1 with dinner and other times 2 with dinner. My guess is both the RYR and Cholestoff did the majority of the work and i will continue taking these now until my next round of blood work in 2026. All in all, I was reluctant to believe a few supplements could make such a large difference without significant lifestyle changes and was pleasantly surprised to see the results over just a few months. Thorne also appears to have a strong reputation and that also carries value when dealing with supplements. One last comment on diet - I dont eat sweets much at all and use olive oil for most of my cooking so my diet wasnt horrible to begin with. Usually meat/veggies for the most part. Hope this helps someone who feels like their diet isnt horrible, yet, their cholesterol is. Ill share an update next year to see if the trend continues.

I puchased this product in February after my doctor wanted to prescribe a cholesterol medication. It had a lot a mof good reviews and I already take several Thorne products. I did my labs two weeks ago and had my follow-up with my doctor last week. He said my bad cholesterol was down and my good cholesterol was up! I am continuing with this because I've had no side effects!

From my personal experience it really helped me to control my bad cholesterol and after checking it with my doctor I stopped taking cholesterol medication. It is a personal experience only so you should follow up with a doctor to make sure that it is working with your body .
