BHD Stained Glass Lead Vise, Spring Loaded, Cast Iron, Metallic

I have used it a few times now and no problems. Be sure to give the cam a solid tap with a small mallet once the came is in place under it. This "sets" the teeth of the cam into the lead. The spring along with the camming action holds the lead in place while you pull on the other end with plyers. I just pull until it gives. Don't over-stretch the lead or it will be ruined.

Easy to use for stretching lead cam for stained glass. The price is quite reasonable too.

Very basic came stretcher but it does get the job done. It needs to be screwed down to something which I didn’t realize when I ordered but wasn’t a big deal. You do have to hold the level down while you stretch it so if it’s a really long piece you need a second person to help. I mainly use hobby came so I can stretch that myself but if you’re using this for lead came you will need a second person no matter the length. But overall I’m pleased with the purchase. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it would be better if it held the came on its own but you get what you pay for.

Works well

This vise does not work. I tried multiple times, and multiple ways to stretch my lead came using this but the vice does not grip the came. The came just slips out when you try to stretch it. Do not buy this item
