A great addition to your calligraphy library
These kinds of books are my jam. I love writing in various forms/fonts of calligraphy, and this book gives an array of wonderful styles. The book pages are sturdy, and they lay flat for ease of use as I practice a particular font. Highly recommend.

Good but earlier versions better.
I really enjoyed to book, looking back at the earlier versions I enjoyed them better due to the amount of actual alphabets ie. 20th edition. This latest version is more art like not as many alphabets. You be the judge.

Excellect calligraphy book!
The Speedball Textbook is published every several years as a overview of the subject. Each edition is unique. All are outstanding with beautiful artwork and instructional exemplars, and this one is, too. I like the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 size that is spiral bound that lays flat. This one definitely belongs in any collection.

More inspirational than instructional
Not good for beginners, it is more of a source for font inspiration than an instructional book with several full alphabets. Might be an interesting read for some, but not what I expected given the title. Ring binding feels cheap but desirable for looking at a page while writing. Doesn't seem like it would hold up well in a purse or backpack.

Not like the old days
I bought this for my son who was gaining an interest in calligraphy. I have a copy of the 20th edition and this one is nowhere near as complete. It's slick and fancy but way fewer alphabets to look at. I was, frankly, disappointed
