It should work with any computer with a USB-C port. It will require driver install.

Hi, if your Dell Latitude 5520 has a video cable that terminates in a male VGA adapter, and you're trying to plug into a computer with a USB-C port, it will probably work. I don't know anything about your particular monitor, but that would be my best guess.

When i connect my monitor it works but i hear a loud buzzing noise? unusable unless there is a solution. i am using a late 2018 macbook air.

Sounds like you have a defective adapter. We have several of these on 2018 Macs around work and none have that behavior.

Will this work with hp elitebook 840 g5?

It should. That's a new computer, so I assume it has Windows 10, which automatically connects to your monitor. If there is a problem, go to Settings-->System--Display and go from there..
