M14x1.5 Thread Repair Kit, Stainless Steel Thread Insert Sleeve

I was replace rear shock on my Mini cooper Countryman R60 while I removed rear shock bolt on lower control arm. Bolt was broken in a half so I have to drill it out the thread stripped and I have to fix it out after read lots of disscussion and watch youtube I found helicoil it cheap and strong so I bought this set (M14x1.5 2D) from Amazon. It working perfect hold bolt tight as original thread. I can torque to orginal spec 121ftlb. Wow It strong than I expected. Recommended.

Comes with everything you need!

Kit came with everything needed. We rethreaded the oil plug hole for F90LA Yamaha boat motor that was stripped. Had to shorten up the insert 2x before we got the right depth. We used a Dremel cutoff wheel. Just take your time when rethreading to make sure its straight.

this thing saved my ass can't say how much I appreciate the fact that they have these able to be gotten online cannot find them anywhere in any of my local stores.

Good quality and worked well for my need

There are zero directions included in the kit. I also was not able to find any instructions online. I watched some similar kits being used and improvised. The tap and drill we marked with the insert size and not their actual size. The drill bit is long, way too long. I used it to repair an oil pan drain and I had to trim off almost two inches to get it to fit between the frame and pan. I finally got it to work but it was really tight. The shank is 1/2" so using a right angle drill doesn't work either. I ended up having to grab the fluted end with a drill chuck and spin it while I used a grinder to remove the shoulder to get it down to 1/2" to fit in drill. The inserts need to be red lock tighted in because they are not the expanding type. It works, but you better be ready to fiddle with it to get it right.

Well, I am a professional auto technician and I was doing a frame hole repair on a Durango at the rear sub frame. This kit was terrible from top to bottom. The drill bit bent right away. I bought a Century replacement and that bit was fantastic. The tap included was terrible and the coils themselves were a mess. After this fiasco, I bought the actual Helicoil branded kit and in minutes, it was done and done correctly. HUGE difference in quality. Also, the name brand kit comes with a threaded insertion device that keeps the coils in the proper threads while going into the hole. There is a real good reason why it costs a lot more.

Size is right, tap is not hardened so be careful when trying to tap the hole. Drill bit works good on aluminum don't know about steel.

Excelente calidad.

Thread for oil drain plug stuffed by previous owners, this worked well - drilled hole, created thread, inserted insert, I had to cut the insert as it was too long, but then the thread worked perfectly. This was into Aluminum, so nice and easy.

The thread inserts and specialized tap are what count most. But the 9/16” drill and insert tool are handy too.

Me llego el producto y cuando lo instale el tornillo nuevo no entro , el heli- coil era de otra medida y ahora la rosca que instale se quedo ahi
