These work with my thicker shakes and my oats overnight. The powder, the oats, the chia seeds or whatever else is used that day do not stick in the little crevices. They do a good job of agitating the bottles' contents and getting everything mixed. They are around the size of a golfball. And due to their size and design, even if you do leave them in your bottle with the lid on and you drink through the mouthpiece they won't come out but the shake can still come through. They are very easy to wash. I've only handwashed but I don't see why they can't go in a dishwaer. Although, maybe you'd want to put them in a washing bag or cage because the water pressure may make them bounce around, lol! I only had trouble with the hand washing one time with a chia seed but that was my own fault for leaving it too long.

Purchased these to be additional shaker balls for my use with other beverage bottles that I mix powdered and syrup drinks in. These work just as well as the shaker ball that came with one of those bottles. It easily mixed both the syrup and the powder without clumping. Sure, the ball may float - plastic floats. Just put your liquid in first, then the ball, then the powder on top. Washes easily in the dishwasher on the top rack. We put ours in a washing basket.

This product is weighted balls. On a lot of reviews it said they would float but the do not. I almost did not order these because of that statement. However I did order them and am very glad I did.
