Are pattern diameters and flow rates independent of each other?

Yes, each emitter can be adjusted independently - the cap can be screwed down to reduce flow or loosened (up) to increase flow. Higher flow results in a larger spray pattern diameter.

can the direction of spray be adjusted from 0 to 360 degrees or does it only work in 360 degrees of spray?

You can adjust the flow but not the direction. I am changing all of my emitters to these because they are much less prone to plugging and easier to set the flow I want from place to place. The drip type and the screw type are much more prone to plugging when they are throttled down.

Can i add 4 one to each corner of my 65 gallon pots to get even watering. I also feed with dry ammendments so im looks for the top soil to get covered

You can. These are quite adjustable, from no flow to a lot. The radius of spray will increase with the flow adjustment, so just place them accordingly. I’ve made several “rings” for pots with these and they work great.

Do these come with a 180 degree fan spray?

No. It’s 360 degree full circle. The spray is adjustable for volume of water and area covered. They can put out a lot of water if needed.
