I use this as a needle puller when hand sewing. I have arthritis, and using tools such as this help a lot. Sometimes fabric layers are a bit too thick and I have trouble getting through all the layers. I use these to grab the needle at the back and push it through enough to release it, then grab the front of the needle to pull it through. I also cheat a bit with a small cake of beeswax. I rub the needle and thread on the wax, then sew. Between those two, plus a metal thimble to push from behind, I get the stitching done. Just as a side note, I only do this at the very end of a project when there is a small area to be sewn. It's waaaay to much trouble otherwise. 😉 The best example I can give is a denim wallet I made. I had it all put together: the outside, liner, and zipper. There was a small hole to turn it right-side out, then stitch it closed. It was 4 layers of thick denim, and had to be hand-sewn. This tool made it much faster and less painful than I was expecting. So, 5 stars for you, along with my gratitude.

Great for changing earrings, I have several cartalige earrings and it's great at holding them in place when I change or tighten them. The angled feature also means I can see what I am doing. The only issue is it is angled so sometimes I try to adjust it like it's straight, and that doesn't work out... But that's on me.

Inexpensive. These are pretty nice to use when soldering or holding small parts. But, they are not as well finished as the medical instruments that they resemble. I compared them with a real polished stainless steel pair from a hospital and noticed that not only is the surface dull in comparison, but the jaws to not meet as perfectly as the "real" ones. It is as if the ridges meant to grip items in the jaws were cut exactly the same on both sides. This causes the peaks to collide instead of fitting into the valleys on the other side. They are okay, but not great.

These forceps are really good they lock on jewelry with a good grip and there also good for tighting balls.
