Great-tasting multi-purpose oatcakes
First of all, as Amazon continues to conflate reviews for various items under the listing for one item, let me make clear that this review is for the "Walker's Shortbread Highland Oatcake Crackers." Secondly, don't be confused by this name. The company is called "Walker's" and the words "Shortbread" and "Crackers" have apparently been inserted for marketing purposes. These are neither shortbread nor crackers but rather oatcakes, which can best be described as a cross between the two. They haven't been made with butter and they contain very little sugar, so they're not buttery and sweet like shortbread. They contain very little sugar but they also contain very little salt, so they're not really like crackers either. They're not like cakes and they're not at all like Scandinavian crispbread. They're unlike the oatcakes made by Nairn's - which are harder and more bland, more like English water crackers - probably because the Walker's contain a little sugar but the Nairn's contain no sugar at all. The Walker's may also have a slightly more delicate texture than Stockan's oatcakes, though the Stockan's are also delicious. Oat flour is slightly sweet to begin with, and these oatcakes make a great snack unembellished. Great with honey, jam, or roasted hazelnut butter (better than almond or peanut). When I want to wash down something sweet with my Darjeeling, I spread hazelnut butter on one oatcake and raspberry jam on another and then sandwich them. My craving is satisfied, and I'm not tempted by a handy supply of ready-made cookies. The Subscribe & Save price for these is great, and every package in the lot that I received shows a very long expiration date.

There is wheat flour in these crackers!
I bought six boxes of these assuming that they are made of oat flour with no wheat flour. I could not see ingredients displayed on the product site, and I assumed based on the description that they only had oat flour. I was wrong. When I looked at the Amazon site picture of the side of the box that lists nutritional information, there are no ingredients listed. But when I received the crackers, I saw the ingredients listed above the nutritional information. Why, I wonder, did the company not show the ingredients on the site? It seems purposefully deceptive. I am not a celiac, but I have a sensitivity to wheat flour. I will be giving all six boxes away. I would love a refund!

Love them!
First to be honest, I was born in Scotland and raised eating oatcakes. I now live in Florida and over the years have been inventive in acquiring them . But now through Amazon I always have a supply. Walker's is a good brand and tasty for my needs. Great with cheese, marmalade or a soft boiled egg.

made of oats
These suddenly went up to a much higher price, so I stopped buying them - now back down to their previous price roughly - thank you - now I will buy again. I need to keep eating oats for my low cholesterol diet, so that is why I buy them (I do not like porage oats in a bowl) - so these make a great breakfast with my home made tofu ''cream cheese" !! I did find other cookies with oats, but they contain sugar so not ideal ! My cholesterol is basically 0 since my diet changes !

The crackers are delicious, but the seller said he wouldn't complete the purchase, so I purchased elsewhere....Only to then have the seller complete the purchase. I am inundated with these now.

A bit crumbly at times
I purchased Walkers Shortbread Highland Oat Crackers, 9.9 Ounce Box in a six-pack and the carton arrived in perfect condition with a reasonably distant best by date imprinted on each box. The crackers are a little more crumbly than I recall, but the taste is what I expected in an oat cracker of this style. The texture is consistent, not varying from bite to bite or cracker to cracker, and like others, they really need an accompaniment and don't do well when eaten in their simple dry format. A soft texture and/or sweet topping do very well with these and they can really be adorned without worry that they won't hold. I personally don't weigh them down so their texture can be enjoyed without the topping. I appreciate that these each contain 4 individually wrapped packets so they will stay fresher. I also store the opened crackers in the refrigerator.

The whole pairing is a bit sweet, tart
I missed these so much - got attached to them while living in England. You have simple got to try cheddar cheese and oat cakes...then for something over the moon, put some Branston Pickle on the top. The whole pairing is a bit sweet, tart, sharp and moreish.
