Clean as a whistle!
I use a New Air portable Ice maker when I'm camping. Although I use a water filter when using my Ice maker over time it has built up minerals and stains along the sides and parts of the inside. You could rub your finger across the plastic and it felt like sand paper. I decided to use this cleaner/descaler to see if I could clean things up a bit. I mixed according to the instructions and ran the ice maker through a full cycle of water throwing my ice out as it worked its magic. I then ran a batch of fresh water through it and threw that ice out as well. When it was done boy what a difference. After I turned my ice maker off and dried it out with a micro fiber towel it looked brand new inside. It runs like a top and I'm so glad I found this product. Amazing!

Wonderful Ice Machine Cleaner/Descaler Second Order!
This Ice Machine Cleaner did a wonderful job of cleaning a KitchenAid ice machine. I mixed 2 ounces with the contents of the ice machine reservoir using the Clean Cycle. The ice now is clear and the machine is making ice quickly. I rate this product higher than the manufacturer's product which I have used for years. Decided on this product on a whelm. Glad I ordered this cleaner. EDITED to say this is the second purchase of this wonderful ice machine cleaner/descaler. Glad to have found it! A little goes a long way!

Simply does its job, no complaints.
Definitely works as intended. My ice machine was in need of a good clean, and this cleaner seemed to have done the job. Ice tasted fresher with no odor or weird after taste that you'd get from mineral buildup and such. Honestly, it simply just does its job. You might want to check how often you have to clean with it, as water quality also affects how many times you'd need to clean with it. My area has very clean water so I use it as intended which is once monthly.

Thanks very much for a good product.
Used it for the first time in my Kitchenaid Ice Maker. Very simple. Poured 1/4 bottle and water into tray, and ran cleaning cycle. Did not remove 100% of the scale on the slide portion of the ice maker, but 95% at least. Machine wasn't working at all prior to this, and after a new filter and the cleaning, it's working perfectly. Thanks very much for a good product.

Good product!
Used this to clean my Opal Nugget ice maker. It had been neglected and has lots of hard water stains on exterior and Iโm sure lots of build up inside too. I ran it through according to instructions (diluted), but put it on paper towels full strength to clean outside of ice maker. Looks brand new. Seems similar to CLR but specifically for ice makers. Would buy again.

Immediate attack of calcium deposits
Update: This bottle is only 8 oz and makes 2 gallons of dilute ready-to-use solution. When comparing that to some of the other concentrated solutions, its not as good a value. For example, the "Essential Values" cleaner is 16 oz and makes 4 gallons of ready-to-use solution for about the same price. To fairly compare pricing, you need to understand the dilution ratio and know how much total cleaner your bottle will produce. Some gallon-sized products may be already diluted, so beware. ==== Original review follows ==== My ice maker is about 2 years old and never been cleaned. I use a carbon filter on the water, so wasn't expecting calcium deposits, but there was plenty. This descaler dissolved it all in about 1 hour. I have an EdgeStar IB450SS(P). The recirculation trough holds a little more than a quart. The instructions on the Descaler bottle say 4 oz to a gallon. I made 1 quart with warm water using 1 oz of the chemical, drained out the existing water in the trough, poured in the solution and let it run for two cycles (30 minutes each). At the start, I could feel the scale in the ice mould. By the end, it was slippery. Now my ice harvest works as new. I should mention that, before I ran the cleaning cycle, I found a THICK (1/8") layer of calcium sediment/crystals in the bottom of the recirculation trough. I dug out what I could with my fingers and then made a 2x strength batch of the cleaner (with very warm water) and let it sit in the trough for about 1 hours. I swirled it with a plastic spoon occasionally. Once that was all dissolved, I drained the trough and ran the 2 30-minutes cycles with a fresh batch (1oz cleaner to 1 quart very warm water). For the EdgeStar waffle style ice makers, you really get 8 cleanings out of one bottle of chemical, not just 4. As an aside, I tested this chemical on some of the thick scale I pulled out of the recirculation trough. Just put a little in a glass, poured a few drops on the scale and, fizzzz, it started dissolving it pronto. Good stuff.

Small bottle. Pricey like Vintage wine!
Quantity allows 4 cleanings of my H2O distiller. Must buy new bottle every month. 10 bucks for an 8 oz supply is highway robbery. Frequent cleaning and ELBOW grease is the key. Use plastic scrubber only...no steel wool or pumice cleaners (comet etc). Windex and scotch brite WILL work just fine. That being said, this product saves effort. I just wish it were sold locally.

Hope your machine isn't old.
It certainly works as it left my Opal Ice Nugget machine leaking out. Bought my Opal second hand and had always used distilled water and thought what the hell it couldn't hurt to use this product. Apparently, mine was held together by calcium? It really does work. Start small if you have a second hand machine. Stuff did come out.
