Would not buy again - older models better quality
Loved my original surface pro and decided to buy a new one after many years of outstanding performance. This one has been a disappointment & I've had it 2 years now. While it functions well, the materials are inferior in quality to their original build. I love how lightweight it is, but would not go that route again. Lightweight = thin materials and the screen cracked within a couple months. Warranties do not replace cracked screens. It cracked simply from opening & closing the top - the lid is too thin and flexible. No point replacing as the same would happen again. Lettering on the keys are rubbing off - never had that happen on a computer before. Some of the keys are sticking as well and I've never spilled or dropped anything on them. Sadly, I'm considering a new laptop after only 2 years and won't be buying a surface pro again, especially since there are other touch screen options now. The current price is attractive, however. I paid over $2,400 in 2022.

Please do not get/Fire Hazard
I want others aware of my overall experience. I spent a lot of time deciding which laptop was the best for me. I needed one I can use for personal, work, and school. I choose this one based off of reviews and the overall functionality is what I needed. I was a tad bit concerned that it didnt seem to have much room to vent properly but I didn't see many reviews regarding overheating. So I decided to take a leap. HUUGE Mistake. I noticed when I first got it, it overheated fairly fast for just turning it on and basic use. I thought maybe it was just because of the vent issue, and I constantly heard the fan running. I tried to get a laptop stand for better ventilation but this did nothing. I have had laptops in the past and never experienced this issue with any of them. I also have two assigned computers for work one Apple and the other HP and neither over heat or you hear a fan on. Finally, recently I had my computer off, in an air conditioned room, on the laptop stand, charging; with plans to use it later that afternoon. When I grabbed it, it was unbearably hot, to the point my hand couldn't even touch it without feeling the scold. I unplugged it left it in front of a fan and waited to see if it would cool. Mind you the charger was not hot it was only the bottom of the laptop where the battery is. After over 30 mins with it still being as hot as when I first touched it I contacted the seller for resolution. I also attempted to see if the last top would turn on and it would not. The seller told me I couldn't get a refund based off it being covered under manufacture warranty. Although I was extremely hesitant (due to the laptop being a fire risk and hazard) I agreed for them to send a me a replacement. Hoping maybe it was just a manufacturer error. I will say EVERYTHING else I truly love about this laptop. Its slim, I can complete so many functions on this, its beautiful (I got the matte black), and over all it would have been the perfect laptop for me. Well I received my replacement laptop yesterday. First thing I noticed is this one didn't heat up upon turning it on. However, I could not hear a fan like I did with my first one. Within the first 5 mins of me just doing the basic setup, it was overheated and extremely hot to the touch on the bottom. I immediately reached out to the seller and I was met with a response of "it gets hot during initial setup. Let us know if its still an issue after the set up, and we will have the manufacturer send another replacement." First of all I have never experienced this with ANY laptop in my life. At this point I am genuinely in fear of it being a fire risk and I am scared to turn it on. I am not sure what else to do since they are unwilling to give me a refund and their plan of action is to just keep sending me new ones through Microsoft until I have a lucky one. This is genuinely a safety concern for me not to mention I spend $1600 on a laptop I cant even use. I also had questions if they were even sending me a new one like I paid for because they were coming in packaged unlike how microsoft pictured. Although seller assured me its due to to mass production and it not being retail sold they send them off like this. I am just trying to inform others to avoid them the money loss and safety hazard. If there is any updates I will post at a later time.

Battery life never reaches past 5 hours
I had a lot of hope switching from HP to Microsoft. I thought that getting the top of the line laptop would be faster and have longer battery life. First off the packaging feels a bit flimsy and less durable. It's definitely lighter from the HP 360 spectre I had, but it comes at a cost. My HP spectre was 10 years old intel i7, 512 gb SSD and 8 gb of ram and was running great, but after 10 years I thought I could use an upgrade. After setting it up I noticed that it seemed a tick slower even with 24 gb of ram. So I tested it and found out that the HP fired up faster to the home screen by 20 secs faster! I thought I can live with that if the battery lasted longer. Guess what? It doesn't. I tested it from 100% that I get about 3.75 hours of battery before I have to plug it in. That seems crazy off of what is stated! After 10 years my HP matches the battery life. With that said, if you're going to buy a surface for speed and battery life try the AMD processor. I would still feel a bit skeptical to be honest. I'm truly disappointed.

Computer works well so far. The charger the seller sent with the computer didn't work.

Nearly impossible to repair
Microsoft constructs these so servicing them is impractical, or even impossible. On mine the internal battery failed, and so it can’t be charged. The laptop doesn’t function with the charging cable attached, though the white light on the charging cable end does come on when attached to the laptop. Microsoft customer service is below sub standard, and I wasted more time than you would believe with them. Do not buy this, or any other Microsoft surface laptop unless you need a door stop or fishing weight.
