For some reason this reel will only cast around 20 feet max and I have 30 lb line on it am I doing something wrong?

30 lb. line is WAY too heavy for a light action rod. I would put no more than 8 lb. line on it. Get some 6 lb. braided line and it will cast 100'. Use it to fish for panfish or trout. Get a heavier rod for fish bigger than that.
