Regalo Safety 28"-76" Super Wide Configurable Baby Gate

This gate, Regalo Safety 24"-192" Metal 2-in-1 Super Wide has definitely served it purpose. I bought this product January 2012, and has used it several times. I recently used the gate as a pen for 1 of my dogs to heal a pulled muscle. This is a great product. I have used this product with large dog, and cats with success. The height is perfect, along with the gate is easy to use. Even with the plastic connectors on each individual panel, I've had no problems. I have also used this around a wood stove, and again it worked perfectly to keep children, dogs, and cats.I would highly recommend this gate for anyone. The panels can be taken apart to make smaller barriers. The ease, sturdiness, and convert ability to different lengths is perfect!

My 88 yr old father just moved in with me ... and with Dad came his 50lb dog. Now, I live in an apartment and I have 2 cats and I a granddaughter. This dog has, shall we say, minimal training and she's been known to nip when she feels threatened. So I kinda have my hands full with this dog.Sadly my father and step mom adopted this dog and she would have been a project for a seasoned dog trainer.... they were definitely in over their heads with her as they are NOT dog trainers. She has always been wary of strangers and nips at their legs/etc if they turn their back on her.... bad enough with a grown adult, but if she does this with my Granddaughter or her friends, we're going to have trouble. She has almost no exposure to kids so that alone is a pretty big challenge. On top of that she's got a chase urge and hasn't been around cats in about 8 years. One of my cats is a real "scaredy cat" who hides if you look at him sideways just to complicate matters. I have a lot of work ahead of me.When I knew I was going to have to take her on along with my father, I started researching gate options. I need something that will hold her in (thankfully she doesn't test these things though!), while allowing my father to get through with minimal struggle. His mobility is pretty compromised (he uses a Rollator) and he's a fall risk so he has to be able to get through easily. I realized I likely needed more than one gate. And I realized that until the dog was here, I really wasn't sure exactly how it would work out.When I saw this gate/yard, I knew it was my answer to my problems. I have tons of options with this so as things (hopefully) change I can alter how we set this up. After trying multiple configurations I ended up with 4 panels at one end of the long living room to lock the dog in both when we go out (she will crap if left in a large enough space) as well as a place to put her if we have company to keep them safe while she's learning her manners. We have 3 more panels at the other end of the room to keep her in with us most of the time while allowing the cats a safe space where they can get to their litter and food. (It's ended up also being great for keeping one of my cats from escaping through my sliding door when I'm Bar-B-Quing!) The only thing I haven't used is the actual gate because my father's Rollator won't go through it, but that's ok - it may come in handy in the future. We will be moving to a house soon, so I love that I can take this with us and adapt it to the new space.Dealing with the issue of this dog has probably caused me more stress than any other part of the move... or at least it's right up there with the more stressful parts, because I'm realistic that if she so much as nips at one of my Granddaughter's friends or even an adult that she could well be impounded and even put down. The burden of this feels bigger than the "burden" of dealing with my ailing father. So I'm really relieved that we have this in place now. It's working great! She's already learning to not chase the braver cat who comes and goes through the gap we left so he could get to the Living Room. She also seems to be ok with staying in the smaller space when we go out. I honestly couldn't have chosen a better option for my needs.This thing is quite sturdy yet light for such a big set. There are seriously sooo many ways you can configure this thing depending on your needs. And the price, for a gate with 8 panels, is amazing. I was getting quite discouraged when I started researching for a gate because I really didn't know exactly how I would set things up and I didn't want to have to buy 4 different gates (or more) to figure out what would work.So if you have any kind of situation where you need to separate groups of animals easily and quickly, this is your gate. If you have an awkward shaped space to cordon off, this is your gate. If you are traveling and need to have a movable pen, this is your gate. If you have someone who can't get through the standard gate that most of these things have, this is your gate. I'm going to upload photos in the next day or so to show how we have this set up for our current situation.Although I'm a reviewer here I purchased this item at full retail price as a PERSONAL purchase and am reviewing this because I want to. Purchased this gate for my toddler. It is a great size and it is very easy to assemble. This gate is very easy to fold up when you’re not using it and folds up to a very compact size. The height of it is perfect for a toddler and it is very sturdy in case you’re toddler decides to start shaking. Would highly recommend.

We have a dog who might be the most well trained, well behaved, obedient dog ON THE PLANET - - UNTIL the UPS/Amazon truck goes by (or--GOD HELP US!--pulls into our driveway.) Then, all bets are OFF. No treat, no command, no power on earth will prevent him from going full on CUJO--raised hackles, deafening barking, slavering mouth. And it was a performance that would invariably take place on my brand new, long awaited (we're talking DECADES here, people) and pretty GD expensive leather couch. Or, when he couldn't get to that (we tried a LOT of strategies for keeping him off. Only the ridiculousness in the last photo did the trick) he'd have his scratching paws on my side table. Once, he actually jumped like a deranged billy goat right up onto my coffee table! Things had become desperate. Not to mention downright unattractive. I needed a gate. A nice-looking one. A BIG one.After doing A LOT of research for a gate that would fit my requirements: unobtrusive/attractive, black or dark brown--NOT white, able to be folded up and tucked away easily, STURDY, lightweight, and most importantly, big enough and able to be contorted into the shape I was imagining. All WITHOUT a break the bank price tag.I looked at many MANY gates. Mostly made of "wood". I use quotes because I would always find reviews with pictures that showed a gate that after being knocked over once was cracked (pressboard will do that!) and either ruined or requiring an ugly patch job. Most didn't have hinges that would swing in either direction (or that locked into place.) NONE allowed you to remove panels and NONE allowed you to either mount it in an opening or connect the ends forming a pen, as well as have it stand up on its own. And anything even 2/3 the size of this gate was in the $130 range. WAY to much money for CRAP.This gate is (almost!) PERFECTION! It ticks off all my boxes, does all of the above, looks WAY better than even the nicest "wood" gates I looked at, AND was under $100! My "almost" - - and my only reason for not giving it an enthusiastic 5 stars - - is that, as you can see in my pics, two of the spindles arrived bent. To be fair, this is possibly - - even likely - - something that happened in transit. And while I'm considering returning for a replacement I could easily see myself just keeping it, as the slightly bent spindles are largely unnoticeable, have zero impact on its function and - - miracle of miracles! - - pooch is no longer able to get to my couch! Equally as thrilling, I am able to SEE my new couch, and no longer have a living room that looks like a NYC building construction site (all the cardboard had needed was some graffiti and some posters/signs to complete the look... 😒)Buy this gate. You won't regret it (and YOUR spindles will most likely be straight. 👍🏻)

We have used these gates for 4 years and they have stood up to the abuse of 2 toddlers. My favorite thing about these gates is that I can used a few links in several different spots throughout my house. For example, we had 2 sections in 2 different archways in my living room Then an additional section to separate part of my living room from another for our baby to have a space away from our toddler . With a little creativity you can use these gates for more than just a connected circle or a single straight line. They are easy to install, take apart, move, disassemble. The only time the locking part of the gate opened unexpectedly is when our 3 year old ran full force into it. Other than that both our kids could never get it open. We have a few different regalo products and we would recommend them to others!

We have only had this "play yard"/fence for a week or so and haven't had any issues. My wife and I were both pleasantly surprised by the quality and build of this fence. It has far more heft and durability than I was expecting, even based on reviews. So much that I wouldn't really consider it "portable." But I'm not considering that a negative for our needs. If you needed to take it some where or move it, you could do so without issue. I'd say it weighs about 25-30 lbs. Even an adult would be hard-pressed to break one of the vertical metal rods off. The plastic "locks" on the other hand would be pretty easy to break (as an adult). They do, however, stay in place when tightened adequately, our 1yo certainly can't shift how we have it set up.We are using this to divide a larger room into a play area (75%) and an office space (25%), and it works perfectly. This play-yard is exactly what we were looking for (in fact, it was really the only thing I could find that fit the bill). I really didn't want to build something out of PVC, or spend several hundred dollars on a solution.We have not fastened it to the studs in the wall, and honestly, I don't feel it is necessary at the moment. Perhaps when #2 arrives in a month that will change. Rather than removing the 4 extra panels, I have them folded up on the ends so that they act as weights, and it works very well. We have it curved in a wide U shape, stability has not been an issue at all. Note that we have cats jumping over it and our 1yo holding onto it and walking along it. Nothing has made me question our current setup or the strength and stability of the fence.Our 1yo very quickly figured out how to lift the gate latch, but couldn't pull the gate towards her at the same time. Thankfully it has the latch lock mechanism on it as well. The latch and lock are easy to open with one hand, which is great for many reasons.The height of the fence is perfect. The cats can jump over it if they really feel the need, and it's several inches taller than our 1yo. I'm 5'8" and definitely couldn't step over this thing easily or comfortably.As of now that's all I can think to write about this fence.I will update my review in time as necessary in regards to the durability and use, though I don't foresee any problems.

Perfect for what I needed! It was about an inch short so I used a piece of wood to fill the gap and attach it to the wall. Also it came assembled which was awesome and super quick to install. Definitely pet friendly too as it’ll keep our dogs out of the babies area. Perfect height and super stable once fixed to the wall on both sides.

I hardly ever write reviews, so something has to go really great or really bad for me to give my input online.So I moved into a new house with my aging father recently and brought my 5 chihuahuas and I didn't want them roaming the whole house, so I needed a long gate to keep them contained to one half of my office for the most part. I thought this gate would work and went over the measurements and thought everything would fit. It arrived on time and, upon first seeing it in person, I started to become worried that my smallest dog, weighing in at 3.2lbs, could maybe squeeze through. I held her and tried to gently see if she could pass through and I didn't think that she could.When we got into the new house, I opened the box back up and setup was fairly easy and I was confident that this would work. It fit very nicely in the space I had measured out. I put all 5 dogs in, and yes, the smallest one came straight through. Now, by the time I moved into the new house, the return window had passed and even if it hadn't, I didn't want to have to box it back up and ship it back out. So, I decided to try and make modifications to keep my smallest in. I got mesh netting and zip tied it all the way across. This did work... until they chewed through it. By this time, one of my larger dogs, 9lbs, found she was able to squeeze through as well (How? I don't know but she managed somehow).So I figured the fabric mesh wasn't strong enough, so I thought maybe chicken wire but i didn't want sharp edges for my dogs and nieces to cut themselves on, so I got a thick plastic mesh and tried that. Again, they chewed straight through it (They may be small, but they are power chewers). While searching for an alternative, I barricaded the gate with boxes to try and keep them in. They still found ways out by pushing the boxes or jumping onto the boxes. I stacked the boxes higher and one was still managing to get out.Around this time they were trying harder and harder every day to get out, so much so that, with the short screws this gate comes with to mount it to the wall, they were able to pull it out of the wall while it was screwed into the stud. Also, the poles that connect the panels, they are very flimsy and fall down even when screwed in properly upon setup. I would regularly come home and find the connector poles completely unattached and on the floor. My dogs are all chihuahuas and under 15lbs. If they can knock the connecting poles down and pull the connection from the wall, I wouldn't just not trust it around small dogs, but larger dogs or children of any age either. A large dog or child would have NO problem messing and pushing on it enough for the gate to crumble.As if this wasn't enough, the gate locks at the top and has little pegs that swivel out at the bottom to "lock" it in place. I HATE having to bend over and swivel that piece up and down just to open or close the gate. Save yourself the stress and get the pet gates from FXW here on Amazon. MUCH better quality, easier setup, much more sturdy, the locking mechanism is easy but firmly locks the door, top and bottom, and the connections between panels are very strong. Best thing, not one of my dogs has ever gotten out of it, not even the smallest.

Very easy to use, it covers very good length. Very handy for multiple usage. i found right solution to create a gate/cage for my dog. Excellent product.
