Excellent tracer
I get these for all of my techs. They are a little more spendy than the analog units, but for the time savings, it's worth it for me. My techs wouldn't know how to use an analog tracer if they needed to and they complain and cry anytime they have to use one. The main speed advantage of this fluke is the ability to trace the wire and then immediately flip the switch and be able to verify each pair for wiring issues or breaks. I've had to replace a few as the guys are pretty hard on them in the field but like I said, it's worth it. They do have analog built in if needed as well.

Great for finding cables plugged into routers and switches!
If you need a tone wand that will find a signal on cables connected to a switch device, this one is for you. That is what IntelliTone is for. If you never need that, then get a cheaper analog tone wand (This one supports IntelliTone and analog, both). The cable-mapping function is a real time saver--after you have located your cable with the signal in it, plug the cable into the butt of the wand and you can verify that both ends of the cable are pinned out correctly. Keep spare 9V batteries on you, this device eats them. All of our techs are outfitted with the Fluke Microscanner2's and they work great with that tone generator. I have not used the wand with the stand-alone MT-8200-61-TNR, but I assume they would work just as well.

Worth every penny
I can give to any tech to tone out and find cables without them having years of experience toning cables. Easy to use. Whether the cable is plugged into a switch or not.

Great toning tool
I recently purchased the fluke CIQ-100 Meter, I needed the 200 probe to be able to identify each individual Cat5 cable when we run 10 to 15 lines to single location. We absolutely rely on the meter and the probe to help us do the job and save us time and money. The probe is extremely reliable and very easy to use. It has paid for itself several times over because of the time is saves us.

I've toned over 500 cables and it's been a great tool to use
I use this almost every day and while there are cheaper versions my grandpa always told me to never skimp on something you'll use for your job..that said if you're going to tone wires one time it probably won't make sense for you. I've toned over 500 cables and it's been a great tool to use.

Sounds off!
I purchased this probe because my old Harris could not locate digital tones. This one does and is the same Fluke quality. My only problem with this unit is that it is so sensitive it is rather difficult to locate a tone within a cable tied bundle. Must first cut ties and then separated all wire individually. Still, better than nothing.

A bit pricey but it was to replace the same model that failed in a kit
This is a bit pricey for a probe. But I had a Fluke kit with a case that had a molded position for this toner. Others that were cheaper would not fit and then I would have to carry it separately from tone generator and tester. The original one lasted me years.

One of the most powerful toners
This is a very powerful toner and you have to be sure you're on the right wire. After toning in digital mode, I switch to analog. Or I hold this tone in one hand and use my bare hand as the probe, yes, it's that powerful.
