The Problem of Increasing Human Energy: With Special Reference to the Harnessing of the Sun's Energy

I bought this book because its discussion on solar energy caught my attention. It is impressive to read Tesla's visionary insights on energy and human progress, especially his focus on harnessing energy from the Sun. In one passage, he writes, 'The sun is the spring that drives all', as he argues that all energy powering human activities originates from it, even in the smallest aspects of daily life. For me, this perspective highlights Tesla's remarkable ability to observe and interconnect the micro and the macro. The way this work blends scientific innovation with philosophical reflections makes it a fascinating read.

This is an excellent read and I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Why? Especially as we move thru an ever-advancing society that generates more, and more energy and thus requiring to keep up with the demand of the finite resources, it’s of a great importance for us to really harness the clean energy abundance which is YET not being fully utilized even in 2020. This is a great read for any age group and any career choice just to have an understanding the role of an advancing civilization.

i just LOVE Tesla, and this book does not disappoint! It might be hard to read for those whose diction doesn't match that of our late, great nikola, but it's well worth the effort, for sure. It's hard to believe he first published this 122 years ago, because it is even more relevant (and needed) now, than then. It's a shame they don't teach kids much, if anything, about him in public school. i'm in my 60's and had no idea who he was in 2012, when i first heard his name. i began researching him then, and am still fascinated by his brilliant mind. i only wish i could've met him, interviewed him and picked that magnificent mind of his. ❤

Tesla poignantly describes the forces retarding the fundamental issues of our times in this brilliant, yet concise, analysis. He breaks human advancement into mathematical terms and identifies what he believes to be the chief humanitarian issues hindering progress of humans as a species. From ignorance, to clean water, restoring nutrition to our food, and sustainable energy production, Tesla describes fundamental concerns that are as true now as they were a century ago. *(With given exception of his approach to coal, as this was one notable limitation of the advancements in his day.) A must read for any futurist or philanthropist intested in the success of humanity in the 21st century.
