Whoa. I'm amazed that this actually worked! I adopted a 1.5 year old stray dog with a SUPER strong prey drive, and he has been fixating and wanting to chase my cats. I bought this as a last resort. Literally used this corrector twice when he looked at the cat, and now they are in bed beside each other and he turned to face the wall when my cat jumped up. It seems two quick 'shhh' sounds of the compressed air has cured a HUGE issue in my home, now he isn't even looking at the cats, let alone chasing them. I'm obviously not ready to leave them alone together, but this is a MASSIVE step in the right direction, and frankly I'm stunned at the effect the noise of this can had on my dog, and his reactions toward the cats. I'm going to carry this everywhere to teach him not to jump or nip etc. I scoffed at the price of this initially for a can of compressed air, but if this is the effect it has after two quick uses, then it was 100% worth the money and I'll buy more when/if this one ever runs out during our training. Thank you so much, to whoever thought up this solution. Brilliant, and corrects the dog without any discomfort or force etc...just a brilliant audible corrector (don't ever spray it at them, they just need to hear the hiss and they will react to the noise immediately).

I have three dogs - two Bichons and a Yorkie (started by "dog sitting" two of them for my kids, and by the time they were ready for them back, we couldn't let them go). Got one of the Bichons from the Animal Shelter, and found out when we got him home that he is mostly blind from cataracts. A great dog, and is fine inside unless you move the furniture, but outside he reacts to everything by barking at full volume, until he can get close enough to give the offending party (neighbors, other dogs, the UPS guy...) a full sniff. And of course, few dogs (or people) are mellow enough to be sniffed by Cujo (even if Cujo looks like a cotton ball). The Yorkie, all four pounds of him, is very possessive and protective. Thinks he is a Rottweiler. Barks at everything, growls when anyone comes up to the blind dog, chases cars. One of our neighbors, with a Shihtzu, walks by every day. Scooter wants nothing to do with Riley, the blind one, or Rocky, the Yorkie. Riley barks so loud we can't have a conversation with Scooter's person. We had gotten a muzzle, and the collar that shoots a spray when the dog barks - neither helped. When the Pet Corrector came, I took it out with me when Scooter was walking by. Riley starts barking, Scooter backs up. I let loose a spray. Riley stops barking and looks at me. Starts barking again. I spray. Riley stops barking, looks at me, and tries one more little "woof" and gets a spray again (I am not spraying HIM, just in the air). Stops barking completely and sits down. The neighbor was AMAZED. He said "how long have you been using that?" and I said "oh about two minutes now" and he was MORE amazed. I had to spray again the next day, but after that I just made a "Pssssttttt" noise and he stopped. The Yorkie is an escape artist and a runner. He got out, I got the spray, and when he heard it, he went right into submissive mode and let me pick him up.I have also had success just showing him the can and making the Psssttt noise. It has been a few months, and I have had to redo the training a few times, but in general I will have these cans forever. I bought one big one and a two pack of the smaller ones, to keep in my pocket during a walk, and they still seem pretty full. One warning - they have something like freon in them, and my husband put one in his back pocket during the walk, without the cap. It must have gone off, because he said his butt got frozen all of a sudden. (yes, I laughed) Again, don't spray AT the dog - it isn't necessary. Just spray in the air. For mine, it is the sound that gets them, and maybe the smell. I also say "NO BARK" or whatever the problem is, to reinforce the command.
