Excellent Multi-probe Thermometer -- Only One Complaint
I have been using a couple of single-probe thermometers for many years. I always thought it would be nice to own a multi-probe unit, and even better to have one that didn't keep me "anchored" to the grill (or oven) to monitor the readings.I hopped on Amazon to look at the multi-probe thermometers. I first looked at the Bluetooth style, but found, in the reviews, that if you get out of range, the Bluetooth disconnects and can clear your readings. I also looked at some WIFI units, but I was hesitant to add another IoT device, especially wondering about the security practices of companies that are in the thermometer business. So I decided to go with an RF unit, and landed on the ThermoPro TP829. It has many nice features, including:-- 4 probes-- a small "base" unit that the probes attach to-- a larger handheld receiver/controller unit that you can carry with you to set the meat type or desired "done" temperature for each probe-- both the base unit and receiver/controller unit have fold out stands-- the system has a 1000 foot range-- nothing has to be installed on your WIFI-- there is no app to install on your phoneI used the system today to cook a large package of chiken thighs on the grill. It was very easy to set up, and it worked very well. The thighs came out just right and were tender and juicy. So that's all of the good stuff, now for my one complaint...The receiver/controller has magnets on the back; however, the base unit has NO magnets, which is inconvenient for the piece that is supposed to be out at the grill. I know that many gas grills have side shelves, so you can stand it up or lay it down on one of those, but there are other grills that do not have that. I don't quite understand why they went through the trouble to put magnets on the receiver/controller that you carry with you, but did not put any on the base unit that is at the grill. Perhaps it's because the cases are made of plastic and they are worried about you sticking it to the side of a hot grill, IDK. But the other single-probe thermometers I have DO have magnets on the back and parts of those cases are plastic. Anyway, for my use, I had some magnetic tape strips, so I cut some to size and now my base unit also has magnets on the back.Aside from that one complaint, I still give this system 5 stars, and I highly recommend it!

Excellent! Works as advertised.
Very good product as advertised, easy to use.

Very good remote thermometer
Very easy to use (even without the instructions, they were enclosed but I have used a similar unit before). Only used it once so far but worked as advertised. Both the connected unit and the remote performed well and appear well constructed.

Excellent quality and dependable
This is my favorite kitchen gadget. I had the bluetooth probes in the past that were cordless but the signal does not travel out of the pit when closed. This one fixes that by having the unit on the outside and a portable that stays with you

They work great but some some minor issues.
First off, they all read the correct temp. I checked them in a calibrated temperature chamber and all probes they were within 2 degrees at temp of 220 F.I read many reviews saying that the probes get hot. My solution was to buy silicone tubing and cover the probes handle before I even put them into the smoker.I got the tubing on Amazon (Clear Platinum Silicone Tubing - Food & Medical Grade - High Temp Hose (5 Feet, 1/4" ID x 3/8" OD Hardness: 50A). They get hot but better much cooler than the metal.Thier low pork setting is for things other than pork chops/roasts/tenderloit. You have to go to the program settings and set it to 245 degrees F. Once you get the hang of it (took me a few tries but I had time since I was smoking tenderloins) it gets easier.I love the ability to have 1 probe for smoker temp and the other three for meat temps or you can set them to however you want. I also like that when it is turned on, it comes up with the last settings you had it set to. I took out the batteries then replaced the and it still held the last setting. Don't know if that will work after a week or two with the batts out but that is a minor issue if it doesn't.I'm bummed that there is no case for them (another common grip in the reviews).I don't know about the battery life but I will be taking the batteries out after each use to insure they don't get corrosion all over the battery compartments. Since I use this outdoors, the humidity outside and from the smoker makes that even more important.I sent an email to ThermoPro and they got back to me quickley. Thumbs up for that!I saw similar ones for cheaper but I trust ThermoPro's reputation and I do not think taking a chance with cooking meat is worth it.Over all, I would recommend it.

For serious BBQ cooks I think the TP 826B is the way to go.
I've literally tried dozens of meat thermometers, and what works best for my smoker is the ThermoPro TP 826B. It has the best design and the most features. I'm also a fan of wireless probe meat thermometers, but they can sometimes be unreliable for long smokes if the probe isn't fully charged. The TP 826B solves that and much more, it has advantages over even the best wireless probe meat thermometers. Most wireless meat thermometers require you use an "app", and both Wi-Fi and bluetooth. The TP826B transmits between the base and the remote with radio frequency or RF. This pretty much eliminates connectivity issues compared to bluetooth and even WiFi. It just works. With the TP 826B you don't need to download any apps, log in, sign up, or pair your phone. You don't need a phone whatsoever, I really, really like that! Also, you get a nice clear LCD for both the probe base and the large LCD remote that you can set near you, no having to turn on your phone to see the temp. Or, if you walk up to your smoker you can view the temps from the probe base, you don't have to carry the large display around. On the large LCD, there's an always displayed count down/count up timer in addition to the temperatures. The LCD is so easy to read, you can both monitor time and temp at a glance. Also, each probe has the ability to set alarms for both high and low temperatures in what they call "BBQ" mode. It's fantastic for monitoring meat that is done, that you need to rest. For example, when smoking a pork butt, and you've finally hit your high temperature alarm that you've set (195ยฐF for mine), the meat needs to rest. You need to allow the pork to slowly cool down and relax, naturally, at its own pace. This thermometer is perfect for that. It takes the guesswork out of when the meat's ready to pull by allowing you to set a low temp alarm. No more guessing. It's easy to use too, with an intuitive design, and I like that fact that it uses AAA batteries instead of rechargeable batteries. I'm sick of having to charge everything in my life and make sure that it's charged. AAA batteries last a very long time in this device, but if they do happen to run out during a cook (not likely) all is not lost, you can easily replace them and not skip a beat. That goes for the probes as well, if one of the wired probes ever fails (outside the warranty), they are inexpensive and easy to replace. Overall, the TP 826B is pretty inexpensive for all it does. If I do ever buy another wireless probe, I'm buying ThermoPro's TP 862B. It's similar to the 826B with the same big LCD monitor but wireless probes. For now, the TP 826B is all I need. One tip, mind the probe wires, doing so will keep you from accidentally dropping the probe remote. When you are ready to start your cook, 1) place the meat in the cooker (wherever it will sit), 2) insert the probe into the meat, 3) plug into the remote. When your food is done, do the reverse, unplug the probe from the remote first before moving the hot item.To sum it up, this is a great tool that makes BBQ and smoking meat easier. ThermoPro thought of everything with this thermometer.

Analyzed accuracy-its a winner!
Having tried one wifi, and several bluetooth wireless thermometers, this is the ONLY one that works, and it is accurate. Atttached are two photos checking calibration and probe-tracking. Thfirst ohoto shows all 4 probes in a bowl of ice and water, while set in Celsius readout mode. In a perfect wirld they would all read 0 deg C. Reading eother 1or 2 is just fine as therno probes typically are less accurate at the ends of their ranges. The lowest temp I will be working at is 80F or so, for cold-smoking Lox salmon. As for the high end, i poured boiling water into a coffee cup which cooled it 20 degrees (now set to Fahrenheit) and notice how the probes match! Again, within a degree or 2. None of the multiprobe thermometers I have tested were within 3 degrees and some were 5F apart with one occasionally reading 50F high! If I was smoking a cabinet full of fish and saw that, I would freak out that the chips caught fire baking my precious food!As for the distance this works, i havent tested the range, other than maybe 50 feet. Since my smokehouse id about 200 feet from the house, the 1000-ft range of this thermometer should be perfect!Plusses:A. The range (if as stated) is excellent! I need at least 250ft and thats well within the specs.B. Bright backlighting, nice readable displaysC. Each channel has an alarm, can be different. This is great for a smoker when you want to monitor the cabinet temperature. Chips sometimes catch fire or go out and extra probes monitor top and bottom of the cabinet and inside two meat locations all with alarms.D. Frequent updates, every few seconds so nothing โgets away from youโ!Things I am not thrilled with:A. This is a BIG one-I wish it did GRAPHING of temperature (much easier to implement on a phone with a graphical display). Seeing temperature trends in any kind of cooking or smoking is incredibly helpful, and I miss this from some other thermometers I have used with Bluetooth, though frequent dropouts plagued those units, and I hated that.B. I really wish this was a wifi device using an app on my iPhone, itโs just so much simpler to not have to carry a phone and the receiver. I have wifi all over my 1.5 acres.2. The wires are not super rugged and tend to kink. The spools for them mostly prevent probe wire storage tangles, and are helpful.***All in all, this is an excellent thermometer, especially for smoking, and the price is reasonable!

Great Thermo Unit And Company That Stands Behind Their Products!!!!
I already have a ThermoPro instant read that I have had for years and replaced the battery several times. It's been my go to and always accurate. I recently upgraded my smoker to a Traeger and with the larger cooking space, decided to get a remote unit that can provide multiple readings. My Traeger does have a thermometer and the ability to check on their app, however it's only one and sometimes I cook different cuts so having the dual probe is convenient.I have to admit, this unit has everything I need and more. It works great and is accurate. I can set alerts, timers, and it has built in (default) temp goal settings that you can also edit to suit your needs. It's been a real time saver and let's me accomplish other tasks and not baby-sit and have to check in often.Unfortunately after a few uses, the one temperature probe didn't read correctly. I did some tests with both probes and the instant read. One of the probes is off by 50F. No idea why, but it's defective. My window for a return/replacement by Amazon was out by 3 days so now I'm not sure what my options are.I emailed ThermoPro, explained what happened, included the readings and results of my tests, and that I was out 3 days for a replacement through Amazon. I downloaded a copy of my receipt for proof and then asked what I had to do for a replacement temperature probe. I didn't expect much but thought it was worth a try.To my surprise, I had a response back from ThermoPro customer service the same day! They asked me to verify my address so they could ship out a replacement. After I confirmed, there was an email the following day with shipment details. A few days later, I received not just the replacement probe but an extra one as well! I tried the new one out and it works exactly as the other original one. We're in an era where many companies aren't interested in customer service, and make it difficult to contact them if you have any questions or issues. This was such a positive experience and made me feel like my business with them was valued.I will 110% be endorsing ThermoPro products to anyone I know and in future, will be purchasing from them again. I don't usually spend the time to write up reviews especially ones this detailed. I am happy to provide this review and I wish I could upvote and add more stars than 5.If the ThermoPro TP826 isn't the unit for you, I recommend you consider some of their other offerrings. Their products are well built, packed with features, and their customer service is some of the best I've experienced in years.Well done ThermoPro and thanks so much for taking the time to help me resolve my (minor) issue!!!!

I have only used the ThermoPro once while cooking a turkey. It was easy to set up, use and clean. I recommend. reading the instructions first, especially cleaning the probes. So far I am pleased with my purchase.
