I'm using these to repel rats from my car engine. I don't have a garage, so I have to park under a tree to keep my car cool. We've had a rat problem since the beginning of covid, when they closed all the grocery stores and other food sources. Moth balls make a great rat repellant.

Just smelling these reminded me of opening up my grandmother’s cedar chest growing up – but I didn’t use them to deter moths, but for driving away rodents in the back yard by sprinkling them in the flower bed. It worked, although the yard smelled like moth balls for about 24 hours. This is a lot cheaper than paying an exterminator!

Scent is rather strong if stored in a bag with garments, but doesn't take long to get rid of it once the dress is aired out in the room for a few hours. Works well too.

FUNCIONAL

Moth balls seem to have gone the way of 78 rpm records and you can no longer find them everywhere. When several of my cashmere sweaters got chewed up by voracious moths I tried to solve the problem with blocks of aromatic cedar in my sweater cabinet. It seemed to make these wool scarfing devil bugs hungrier. I found these "original" moth balls on Amazon. While I thought they were shockingly expensive for three smallish bagsful, good cashmere sweaters are costly too and I liked them without random ventilation. So far at least my sweaters are now protected by the smelly, eye stinging vapors of paradichlorobenzine which I am pretty sure will repel moths. It repels me. Fortunately, if I give my sweaters a good shake and wave them around for a minute or two before wearing them the aroma almost immediately dissipates. So far so good. The big downside: I paid way too much. I just saw mothballs by the score in a local Fred Meyer drug emporium (A Kroger enterprise) for far, far less than I paid for this Amazon purchase. Caveat emptor. I love Amazon and with Amazon Prime I am a loyal and ongoing user. But with the Amazon Marketplace I think one has to be a bit more discriminating and maybe do a tad more research into product value.

Simply mothballs. I use them to place on firewood stacked outside under a tarp. I am hoping that this will stop mice from wanting to nest near the underside of the tarp and then eating holes in the tarp for access. I use them in the attic to deter mice from entering. Limited success.

Seems just fine. I got them to chase away pack rats that we have here in Az. Didn't work for that. The people who told me that it would must have more dainty city rats who are easily offended by odor.

Received my order right on time . Packaging was good . Scent was nice . Everything was fine . Really like what I bought although they were tiny . Only wish they had the Big ball size .
