Vinland Saga 13 Review: A Gripping Saga Continues - Vinland Saga Volume 13 delivers another compelling chapter in this epic historical manga series. As someone who's been following this saga, I can confidently say that it not only lives up to but surpasses the high expectations set by its predecessors. 1. Remarkable Character Development: Vinland Saga has always excelled in character development, and Volume 13 is no exception. Thorfinn's journey continues to evolve in profound and unexpected ways. His growth as a character is inspiring and thought-provoking, making him one of the most compelling protagonists in manga. 2. Stunning Artwork: Makoto Yukimura's artwork continues to shine. The level of detail in character expressions, historical accuracy, and action sequences is astounding. The visuals not only complement the narrative but elevate it to a whole new level. 3. Historical Authenticity: The commitment to historical accuracy remains a standout feature of Vinland Saga. Volume 13 continues to immerse readers in the Viking Age with meticulous research into the era's culture, customs, and battles. The result is a world that feels authentic and immersive. 4. Multilayered Themes: This volume explores a range of profound themes, including the consequences of violence, the pursuit of personal redemption, and the complexities of human nature. The relationships between characters are tested, and the weight of their past decisions comes to the forefront. The storytelling is so compelling that it evokes genuine emotional responses. In conclusion, Vinland Saga Volume 13 is a testament to the exceptional storytelling that has made this series a standout in the manga world. It seamlessly combines compelling characters, breathtaking artwork, historical authenticity, and profound themes to create an experience that is both intellectually stimulating and emotionally resonant. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the series, this volume is a must-read. It continues to set the bar high for what manga can achieve. Review: They finally get to Vinland! - Series Info/Source: This is the 13th volume in the Vinland Saga Omnibus collection. I bought a copy of this book in hardback form. Thoughts: I don't have a ton to day about this volume. Vinland Saga remains one of my favorite manga series ever. These last few omnibus volumes have moved from action/adventure/politics to more of a "day in the life" type of story which isn't quite as exciting. This volume finds Thorfinn and crew finally traveling to Vinland. When they arrive there is a lot of work to do but one of the greatest challenges is communicating with the native people who live there already. You can tell the tension is building between the two parties, even though they are making a huge effort to live peacefully. I love that Thorfinn and his family are getting some peace and joy; Thorfinn really deserves this. This transition shows the growth Thorfinn has gone through from a hot-headed youth to an adventurous father. However, these last few volumes have been a lot less engaging and exciting than the earlier books in the series. I do continue to really enjoy the amazing illustration and the amount of time Yukimura spends delving into the history of the story. The inserts in between volumes showing a map of Thorfinn's travels and descriptions about what was happening historically at that time are incredibly well done. My Summary (5/5): Overall I really enjoyed this volume. This series has transitioned into more of a "day in the life of" type of story rather than a story driven by action and politics. I don't enjoy this format quite as much but I do continue to love the illustration and the detail to the historical aspects of the story. Vinland Saga continues to remain a masterpiece in the manga world and I plan to continue with the series.

The most powerful story in fiction
I have to start this review off by stating this is the first Manga to ever move me to tears. The final chapters of this volume just exemplify how hard Thorfinn has been trying to do things the right way. It’s a relatable tale of redemption the common man of today can relate to. It’s a story that honestly gives me hope that everything will be okay.

Development&Forgiveness
Although Vinland saga is not finished yet, this is without a doubt one of my top 10 series of all time, beautiful story’ great narrative, and one of the best character development pieces in manga/anime I’ve seen. Volume 13 Tugged on my heart strings a little near the end and middle. The book itself came in excellent condition, fast shipping. I cannot wait for the next volume to come out! Also, make sure you check out season two of Vinland saga on Netflix.

Beautiful, moving, a wonderful continuation to the saga
Got to me in perfect condition, no bendy parts or scratches. It's wonderful to see Thorfin going through this part of his story, it's touching, moving, has beautiful art as always and even very funny at times! (Bug eyes is such a great character)

After reading the latest in the series in this collected hardcover, it seems to me that the story may be winding down to a potentially lackluster ending or a rush ending. However, I am not seeing another volume in this series being released, and if they are leaving it here, I am going to be unhappy about an unfinished story. Hell, they are already advertising another more deluxe version of the series collected similar to Berserk and Blade of the Immortal in a larger, leather-bound tome with supposedly extra content. As much as I would like those, I am probably going to pass unless I can get them on a deeply discounted pricing. Unfortunately, after looking up the manga it appears that the story does not progress any further that it has in this current volume and that makes me a bit sad. However, maybe it will progress further since the second season of the anime ended and maybe give life to trying to bring this story to a conclusion after it left things the way they were. Still a great series none the less.

Não li ainda (preciso ler o 11 e o 12, que estão muito caros, antes) mas sei que será bom. O preço pelo Kindle (R$12,90) foi ótimo pelo que entrega (edição deluxe, que custa muuuuito mais do que isso na versão física).
