Plantronics' Voyager Charging Stand gets even better (when compared against the Voyager Legend Charging Case)
I've owned/use Plantronics headsets for more years than I can remember. Does that mean I've always used Plantronics, or that I never used other brands in-between Plantronics? Of course not...but I always end up going back to Plantronics. Why? Because there's nothing better. Case in point - In 2009, whatever headset I was using at the time (I believe it was from Motorola) was doing some "weird" things, and I had narrowed my choices down to three possible replacements: Plantronics Voyager, Jawbone, & BlueAnt. All three were highly rated. Where I was working (at the time), a couple came in, and I happened to notice the husband/boyfriend wearing the Voyager. Initially approaching them so as to provide customer service, I turned the conversation to Bluetooth headsets, and, mentioning my three choices, he said, "It's interesting that you happened to mention those specific headsets, as I have the Voyager, and I had the other two. Between them, the Voyager is, by far, the best of the three. In fact, it's the best headset I've ever had." That having been said, my decision was made...and Voyager-series headsets is what I've used ever since. Prior to the Voyager 5200, I had the Voyager Legend (which now belongs to my wife, as she had no headset, and seriously needed one), which, until the 5200, had been the best headset I'd had. Now, the Voyager 5200 has taken that "top spot". I HIGHLY recommend the Voyager 5200, as well as its charging case. Turning to the charging case, I was initially figuring I could use the charging case from the Voyager Legend to charge the Voyager 5200, but, due to the "angle" near the charging contacts, they wouldn't touch the Legend case's contacts. So, I ordered the 5200 charging case...and, likewise, I was hoping that I might be able to charge the Legend inside the 5200 case...but, again, no dice. This would have been great, as the 5200 case has two ways to charge the headset. Unlike the Legend case, which can only charge the headset from within the case, the 5200 case has a second charging point, allowing you to use the case as a charging stand, with the headset propped up, making it very easy to "grab & go". Logitech as always done an outstanding job in the design, and quality, of their products. Ignoring the "problem" of not being able to charge the Legend (although, other companies doe the same type of thing, making "minor adjustments", forcing consumers to purchase new accessories)...which, in truth, really isn't a "problem"...the Plantronics Voyager 5200 Charging Case is an exceptionally well-thought-out, well designed, product. Yes, it's slightly (but, again, not by much) on the "over-priced" side...but...if you have a job like I do, where you have a good possibility of the battery running low, and need a headset charging case, I HIGHLY recommend getting one. Even if your job doesn't drain your headset's battery, you should still consider getting one. Call it "peace of mind". Besides, even for regular home-charging use, it's much better than having to plug & unplug the headset - you just stick it into the "stand" charging slot, and, when you're ready to head out for the day, just grab & go.

MUST HAVE for Owners of Plantronics Voyager 5200!!
The Voyager 5200 Bluetooth earpiece itself, is very expensive, and if you have one, you're likely pretty attached to it already. So storage and protection alone are enough to justify getting this, lol. But you also get the added benefit of almost never having to worry about your earpiece dying again. Every time you put it back in this case, it will top it off again, and so if you time it right, you only have to worry about charging the case. There's also a way you can just set the earpiece on the outside of the case and it charges it too, but I tend to always put it in the case anyway. Nice touch though. This seems to be Plantronics' trademark, or signature- an awesome and stylish case that also charges your device. It's also what sold me on the Voyager Edge some years ago. However, the case came with the earpiece back then, and now the earpieces cost even more, and the cases are separate. Shame to Plantronics for that... They are basically the provider of wireless devices for landlines for workers who have to spend all day on the phone. So I know they could include the cases without hurting them one bit. Anyway, you'd be hard pressed to find a better quality. Nicely done Plantronics.

Revising review back to 5 stars
This is the 2nd time I've revised my review and doing so out of fairness to the product. One criticism I had was mine seemed to fail after a year. As it turns out it was a malfunction caused by my aging Voyager 5200 earpiece and not the charging case. And speaking of the age of my earpiece - that was also the cause of not being able to charge it while in the case and with the lid closed. Specifically - if your earpiece is older the "loop" or top part of it that rests on top of your ear may have softened and not be as firm as when new. When that happens there is not enough pressure to keep the charging contacts on the earpiece firmly against the charging contacts in the case. It doesn't have anything to do with the design. I discovered this was the real reason when I bought a new Voyager 5200 bundle in January 2025. My old earpiece served me well since 2020 but with daily use it understandably just fell apart. With my new earpiece not only does the new case it came with work as expected but so does my old one.

Works great, very minor shortcomings
I love it - just what I wanted. My last Voyager 5200 got beaten up in my backpack over a few years, so I decided to get a new one and a case for it. The case charges it all the time so I'm always charged up - no more one hour call and the device runs out of juice. Two very minor shortcomings - 1) the case could do a better job of telling you when IT needs to be charged. From observation it seems like the little red light only comes on when you try to charge and it's low batt. It would be great if it proactively blinked one blue light when low, and the red light blinked when really low - more proactive alerting. 2) It doesn't charge my old Voyager 5200 - it's the same design but it may be too old to accept this type of charger. Like I said, minor flaws. Love that my 5200 is protected in my backpack and always charged and that's why I bought it.

Only had it a week but really like it
My wife got this for me for my birthday to replace my old Voyager Legend that did not want to charge any more. So far I like it better. It feels lighter and more comfortable. Noise canceling is a little better. Battery life is much better, tho mine was failing. It seems to be about the same as my Legend was new. Case is much nicer than the one for the Legend. And it has an easy docking spot so you can charge it on your desk without having to fold it up and put it in the case. That's really nice! The charging case is slightly larger and has a rubberized coating that makes it a little hard to get in and out of a tight pocket. I used to keep the legend charge case in a small pocket on the leg of my cargo pants but this case will not fix in there. It was snug with the Legend case. But this one is just a little to big and with the coating I dont think I could get it back out if I got it in there . LOL. Over all I am really happy with this headset and charging case! If you have a good working Legend I don't think its worth the money to upgrade to this one. But if your legend fails this one is a bit nicer. And not much more expensive. So if you have the money stepping up to this ones is worth it to me if you have to replace your headset anyway. If your a first time buyer you will not be disappointed. This is one of the best headsets on the market!

Just Get It : )
Oh man, this is such a cool accessory for the Voyager 5200 Bluetooth Headset. I'm a professional driver, so I use my 5200 everyday at work, all day long (sometimes all night as well), and it's so nice when my shift is done to be able to pop the 5200 into this case, see all the little lights flash (showing the current charge level in both the headset AND the charging case), the put it in my bag and know that the headset will be fully charged the next time I pull it out. I'm very impressed with the level of design and engineering that went into making this product not only versatile, but virtually foolproof. By foolproof, I mean, when you put the headset in the case, it has a magnet that connects it to the charging circuit, so it makes this little clicking sound when it gets seated correctly, and then there are two sets of little blue LED lights that begin to flash. There are 3 LEDs in each set, showing the charge level, and they flash sequentially showing that they are charging. One of those sets is for the headset, and the other is for the charging case, so it's easy to see if you need to plug the charge case in, which I need to do once a week (I carry a 12 volt USB converter in the car and it only takes less than hour to charge case back up to full. Anyway, this really is one of those accessories that should be a "no brainer" for anybody who purchases the Voyager 5200.

Useless as a docking station; poor customer service. Don't buy.
I really had high hopes for this product. I had read reviews that mentioned this issue, but went ahead and rolled the dice (twice, it appears) and came up snake eyes. Don't get me wrong; the design looks great, but the product is fatally flawed. That or Poly's Quality Control is seriously lacking. The main reason I wanted this docking device is to prevent having to pull back the tiny rubber flap that covers the micro-USB charging point on the base of the Voyager 5200 headset. That's both tricky, as well as likely to cause failure on the little flap, as well as placing stress on the micro-USB socket (in my experience, these fail after repeated use.) The idea of simply placing the headset onto the magnetic base, allowing the Voyager 5200 to charge was great. However, having tried 2 different headsets on 2 different charge cases, I simply cannot get it to charge on the dock. The internal charge ports work fine (hence neither headset had a problem with their charging contacts) but this configuration requires folding the headset each time (ie it won't simply slip onto your ear after; you have to rotate in 2 axes to position the loop correctly) and stops it being a desktop-docking station, which was the exact reason I bought it. Having already put Amazon through the hassle of sending a replacement of both the headset and the charge case, I then called Poly (who are no longer Plantronics, a company whose products I have used at work for years, and loved.) Poly were less than helpful and basically shrugged, and told me to return it again to Amazon. I'm simply not going to impose on Amazon any further for Poly's poor Quality Control. Poly are happy for me to wait past the 30-day Amazon return period and return it to Poly (at my shipping expense) who will then send me a "refurbished" unit, but really, what chance is there that this would result in a different outcome? My advice is to steer clear. Poly have lost me as a customer for life. I said as much to the Customer Service rep who literally told me to have a good day. Super poor experience.

Best purchase yet and great experience
I received this today and charged it soon as I got opened it. Everything seems to work like it should. The case is lightweight, sleek modern design, simple. The headset plt 5200-5220 fits in without a struggle and the magnets inside the case keeps it in place very well. There is a button on the side, when pressed it shows blue leds referencing the charge levels. The right leds show the headset charge and the left shows the case charge. The case also came with a mirco USB charging cable. I use my phone charging block and put the original USB cable that came with the headset in my laptop bag with my extra phone charger since I'm always on the go I can recharge the case when not in use. Its worth the money just for the convenience and to secure and protect your headset when not in use, this was also a buying point for me because I could see it easily lost or damaged so this will eliminate some of my concerns. The Seller/Shipper of the product sent the item out right away and it was received earlier than expected. The packaging was Probably the best I've received in a very long time. The weather has been in a mood here and raining bad, it was shipped in a fed ex envelope and inside was another protective bubble wrap envelope. The fed ex envelope was soaked (thanks fed ex as usual they didn't bag it) and didn't survive but the inside envelope was completely dry and sealed tightly like the seller didn't trust fed ex in the first place lol. The charger inside the box also has great protection from the elements. A Thanks to Seller/Shipper... what Great experience.

holds a really long charge
It's quite brilliant, charges quickly, ear piece fits the charger like hand in glove. The lid doesn't close tightly which seems a bit odd give an over all excellent product.

Best Bluetooth handset ever. Must buy
Best product ever i used. It contains 3 microphone with noise cancellation. While talking on vehicle opponent person hear you clearly. Battery backup is good. Crystal clear sound. To receive in coming call or reject call no need to touch bt handset or phone only say answer or ignore. Perfectly fit in both ears. Negetive point is rubber ear plug broken easily. That's makes me annoying.
