I usually don't take the time to write Amazon reviews, but I was so impressed with this product that I had to submit a review. As our parents and family have gotten older, we realized that we needed a railing on the steps from our garage into our house that had none. I like the fact that this product has several options depending on the number of steps that you have and that there were clear directions on how to measure to determine which product to buy. I was really impresses that the kit included everything that you need to install the railing including - masonry drill bit, ruler, level, and even a pencil to mark the holes that also functioned as a depth gauge for the holes. The directions were very clear and easy to understand. The instructions did not specify that you needed a hammer drill to drill the holes in concrete, but I saw this in one of the posted videos and it made installation much faster. The railing is very sturdy and looks very professional.

I purchased this four step hand rail and the rail extension add on. Instructions where easy to follow and all hardware was included. Even the drill bits required for installation. I mounted the step rail posts onto the wood decking. The additional washers were nice to ensure proper alignment. (I utilized a small torpedo level not included to make adjustments). With the step rail installed, I feel confident that my in-laws and house guests can navigate the steps safely.

The railing itself is great quality and well-made. Easy to assemble it. One person can do it, but easier with a second set of hands. Big gripe is the style of anchor bolts included for setting it on concrete steps. If I had it to do over again, I would have tossed the ones that came with it and gotten better ones from a home improvement store. I have a lot of experience with setting big ones in concrete for large machinery over the years in manufacturing plants, so I know they're not all made the same way. These are ultra cheesy. Also the masonry drill bit provided is lousy. Do yourself a favor on that, too, and use a better quality bit if you have it or buy a small set. Trust me, this hardware requires you to drill the anchor bolt hole almost exactly the correct depth. If you go too shallow and drive an anchor in, it won't sit down far enough for the leg plate to sit on top of it. Good luck pulling it back out to drill it deeper. If you go slightly too deep, the threaded end for the nut is so short it won't extend through the leg plate and you won't be able to get the nut on. If that happens, without the leg sitting on it just put a washer and nut on the threaded stud and crank it down against the concrete to pull it back up out of the hole a bit. You'll get some movement before it starts to tighten and lock in the hole. Enough to give you a little more exposed thread. Another bit of advice, if you don't own a "hammer" drill, buy one. They take the struggle out of drilling into concrete or brick. I have a small one that cost less than a hundred bucks, and even has a selector switch for hammering while drilling or just regular drill. So I would have rated 5 stars easily due to the quality and appearance of the railing and how it screws together, and for being solid as a rock once anchored down to concrete steps with zero wiggle or movement. Just disappointed with the anchoring hardware, that caused me way too much grief. And read the dimensions very closely and measure your installation area. Not all concrete steps are poured to the same "depth" front to back where your foot sits. Pay special attention to the length of the top hand rail where it extends past the upper leg toward the house or door frame. It's fairly long, and you may find that clearance for that pushes the lower leg too far toward the outside edge of the bottom step. Just something to note. Mine was close, but worked.

Railing is sturdy and of good quality. Instructions were very clear and everything needed for installation was provided (except power tools). They even provided a marking pencil for drill holes that also measures the hole depth! Would definitely buy this again.

This is an excellent product great. Great quality materials, and comes with most of the tools needed for assembly.

The hand rail was easy to install and looks great. If you have to drill into concrete the bit that comes with it does not work well. When drilling into concrete start the hole and add a little water to the hole as you drill. The pencil that comes with it works well for showing the depth you need to drill.

These railings are very well-made and customer support is both timely and helpful. I’m attaching photos to show that ours were varied length steps on a curved hill, creating some challenges. DIY always includes glitches but the support gave helpful feedback. My husband had the right tools and drill bits which made a huge difference. The end result is safe, attractive and will weather the elements.
