Nyger seed: Finches like it.
Birds like this Nyger seed. Red house finches and American goldfinches are enjoying these seeds. I am aware that some people say that birds will not eat it. I put out these Nyger seeds and shelled sunflower seeds out for my little feathered finch friends, and they eat it and enjoy it. I have been watching carefully, and the finches are definitely eating the Nyger seeds. It is important not to let these seeds get soaked by water. This may be what contributed to other people saying that finches will not eat it. I clean the seed bowl out every day to make sure the seeds are dry and fresh.

Finches are loving this!
I’m loving the beautiful yellow finches this has been attracting. It took them a while to find it but now that they have they keep coming back!

Good Seeds, but Sprouted in My Feeder
The birds (finches) liked these seeds, but they were supposedly treated so they would not grow ... and they did grow long sprouts, which clogged the feeder and prevented the birds full access to them. The thistle plant that they come from is an invasive, which is why they are supposed to be irradiated.

These are just the right bags for finches. I have used other bags and the finches do not like them, but with these bags there are finches all over them.
