This is a great product. I take blood thinners so bruise easily. Not sure about the scientific explanation, but if I apply to the bruise it heals twice as fast. Also, the first sign of a cold sore on my lip, I apply to exterior of area and cold sore completely disappears by morning. Again, have no idea about explanation for such.

This product works better than 6 prescriptions I have had. Took it to the doctors appointment and the Wound Nurse highly endorsed it. She said Manuka Honey is know for it healing properties and they use it on patients in the hospital. I will not be without this on. Loved the larger size. I have multiple issues with my skin and as a senior citizen it was wonderful to finds something so natural that works so well.

I can’t say for a fact that it is actively healing my skin, but I can say that I do like how it makes my skin look and feel. However, it does have a bit of a grainy texture to it. But it does melt into your skin. So once you get passed that, you should be fine. It also has a strong scent. I’m sure because of the ingredients. I just needed something to help with the skin abscess and it has been keeping it moisturized. As for healing, I’m not sure entirely. Still would recommend for dry skin if you want something more “natural”.

Note: I'm not a doctor and don't play one on TV. Thus, this is not medical advice, etc., etc. A family member has had a continuing itchy skin condition for some time. They have seen dermatologists and had things prescribed, but nothing has gotten rid of it. So, simple relief in any form was the goal. We came across Balm of Gilead, and have been buying it for a few years now. After showering, it is applied and it controls the itch for 2-3 days. By the third day it needs another application. Again, it's not a cure, but low-cost relief...if applied regularly. We've used tea tree products for years and have had good results with them. This product is not overpowering in terms of fragrance, and is easy to put on. You don't need a lot of it. We've had a 2 oz. tin last from 2-3 months.

This is an excellent balm for very dry skin. It has a strong Tea Tree scent but it does fade. It is creamy and easy to apply. I will buy again, when needed.

This stuff is amazing. I am blown away that there are not more reviews. I suffer from a plethora of skin issues - and have for over a decade. One of those issues happens to be a very painful, very itchy rash that will appear on the top of my hand during times of high stress. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING works to alleviate the rash. I have suffered with this rash for several years. I purchased this balm and I experienced almost immediate relief upon first use. A few weeks later of nightly use and the rash is completely gone! This is essentially a miracle considering that I’m one of the “lucky” people who never experiences beneficial effects from things like this; yet this stuff worked! Also, the lip balm keeps another stress related and very painful issue, that involves my lips, at bay! So far, this brand is amazing to say the least. I highly recommend for resistant skin issues.

I have psoriasis, eczema and overall sensitive skin. So I've been through the gamut of creams, prescriptions and lotions. When comparing the all natural ingredients combined with a relative affordable price, you can't go wrong. The more I learn about Manuka honey and oil the more I'm wooed by the potential of this somewhat rare product. I also think using purified tallow is much better for your skin than petroleum jelly. It soothes the itch, heals cuts, and moisturizes. I will say unless you really work into your skin repeatedly it will take 30 - 45 minutes for the balm to soak in. It's not a quick absorbing material like your standard lotion from the store. I also use Aveeno oatmeal lotion and that gets absorbed within minutes but doesn't have the long-lasting (that I feel) is a skin rebuilding barrier. Manuka oil is the last item in the ingredient list so probably isn't as plentiful as other products that tout Munuka honey as their primary ingredient. That said, those other items are also 2 or 3x more expensive. I've never been one, despite my skin ailments, to drop $50 or $100 on skin care products. I find this Healing Balm is a happy medium with price and quality. I will be definitely be buying more.
