Posey 6546 Premium EZ Clean Gait Belt with Spring Loaded Buckle, Black, 58"

The only gait belt I've ever used in professional practice. Strong, wipeable, easy on/off, and a reliable buckle mechanism. This was also the lowest price I could find anywhere. Highly recommend over any other cheaper belt - it's worth the cost when you need something high quality for everyday (safe!) use.

This is similar to the one our PT had in the hospital for my partner's stay. I have more confidence in helping her walk and keep her balance with this belt. I like that it's not cloth so it can easily be sanitized with the wipe of a cloth. It closes tightly and I feel secure that it will stay in place, even when I have to pull from the back to steady her.

I ordered this product after seeing that it matched the type of gait belt that I used while an inpatient in a rehabilitation hospital. I had previously tried the woven gait belt. It has a clasp with teeth for holding them in place. I found this to be awkward and often times i could not get the belt as tight as was desired. With this product, this was not a problem. The belt was easily adjustable and stayed in place once the desired tension was achieved. I was able to use the belt to get in and out of the shower. There is a plastic coating over the belt so that it is waterproof . The ability to where the belt in and out of the shower provides an extra degree of comfort in case there is a slip either going into or out of the shower. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is in need of a gait belt.

The hospital used this one and I was impressed with how fast I could put it on and take it off.
